I think we all know that the world, in terms of Politic's and Environment, isn't in the best shape. Those two things are linked as well, with the first having a drastic effect on the last.

What I'd like to ask you all is, what are you prepared to do about it?

I do not say this in a righteous activist manner, only as a person who feels they should be doing more. It makes me incomfortable thinking about my comfortable lifestyle, knowing the effects just living a normal life is having on the world...knowing that idealistic aloofness in politics is giving tacit consent to idiots to do as they please in my name.

And I let it all happen, and I'm a really nice normal person, as I'm sure most of you are.

What am I going to do? and what about you lot?

"A brave man dies once, A coward dies a thousand times"

That quote, (which is'nt what I wrote...FYI) still rings true. In the society we live in. We are all sadists in terms we take and take and take from nature and we never give anything useful back.

As for what I am doing?

Well for politics, I am not concerned because as far as I can see, it is too confusing in terms of "Blair" still not bloody leaving his "throne" and the Labour became the "New Conservative" which I find revolting. So my concern is not with them

For envioromental terms, Well I recycle and I use fair trade products, which I mentioned in my earlier post thread about the illegalities of many brand names.

Well, I'm all for helping the environment. I'm in the environmental club at school.. and we go into groups.. mine is forestry. So.. I help restore damaged trees and plants.. plant new trees.. and make a better habitat for wild animals..

Also, we visit each national park so that we can have a greater understanding of what we can actually do. Next year, I'll be running for president of that club.. and if I win.. I want to raise money and buy a piece of land for the school.. so whoever comes in that club.. can maintain it.

I recycle just about everything that leaves my father's house..

I do what I can. -shrugs-

In the 'Brave New World Of Cowards" I have at times fallen into the trap of the honest liar who takes pride in humility. Even in my deepest delusions of pride I have seen myself as dust in the wind. The answer is unity in diversity. I am obsessed with another oxymoron, which is chemical balance

Happy to listen, up there! ^^

    Hmm...
I suppose I am not the most environmentally aware person... Then again, I don't litter, and I can't actually drive a car[no liscence...].

However, not so much in terms of politics[I hate them... Very rarely am I impressed, and I've more or less... Given up.] or the environment....

I have big plans for my future that I hope I will accomplish.
After graduating highschool[haha] I'll go to college somewhere and study languages, cultures, history, music and art.... All in there somewhere... =]
I want to travel as much of the world as I can. I want to work with the UN at some point, as well as volunteer in an African camp.

In short, I just really want to improve things...

It sounds rather blunt, I know. But I suppose that is what dreams are. They're all about knowing what you want, and reaching for it, no matter what.

I wish I had a nice list to offer. But I'm not going to have a list - a list of good deeds would make me feel better about myself, while the real problem is my complacency. So, it seems there's a nice fine line to walk between debilitating acceptance of mediocraty, and stifling, smug self-satisfaction.

I think Bob has the right idea... I'm sort of mistrustful of the ability of organizations and systems to change the world. It will have to be simply people. It's always been people. What's the most powerful force? Not a business, not a government, but a legion of -individuals- working towards a common idea. Now, how to rally the troops...?
