Fallen for a family friend...

Ok I've fallen for my Mum's best friend's son. He's been living interstate for a couple of years and has just moved back in with his family. He might be coming to live with us. We got talking on msn and started messaging each other and things have grown since then. Although we've known each other since we were in nappies, were never really close. To be honest we haven't ever spoken this much in our entire lives. What I'm worried about is what our families will say. He's pretty sure his folks will take it ok but I'm just as sure my mother is going to cause an uproar. I'm scared that we will cause a rift between our mothers and I don't want to do that because they've been best friends since they were 13. What do we do? I really like this guy and want to give it a go. Should I?

^ Agreed with Bob Shank on the 18 part. I must say that I highly doubt they'll think it as a bad thing. Your families are friends and they would probably like to see you together. I would sure as heck like to see my future daughter going out with David's (my best friend) future son. It'd give us a reason to hang out more. :)
