Death is a hard thing to deal with. Getting all the emotions out is difficult. For me I use poetry as a form of therapy. You can get all of your emotions out and here you can even share that with others and they can help you with words of advice. I don't believe that any one can really "help" you write a poem. That part you have to do on your own. Just put your heart into it. Let out your emotions and get them all down on paper. Even if the poem has no rhyme scheme it doesn't matter. Some poems don't. That's the great thing about it. You can make it your own. Unique in your own way. Once you start it will become easier. Just let it all out.
    Good luck!

Just write what you are feeling and about all the good memories you've shared together. Once you
start writing you will find things you want to let out.

Write from the heart. the best words come from there.
i also sometimes find it's easy if you use an object of concrete stability to use to wrap the abstract ideas.
a girl i know wrote an amazing poem about heartbreak but to someone who didn't look deeply into it, they would have just said it was about a crumpled napkin.
it's a neat way to go about things.
