Cactus Prickers and Tweezers

When I was on vacation last summer at Biltmore my friend and I were in a shop by the gardens and I picked up a cactus (by the pot -of course-) and thought about buying it, but didn't and put it back. Unfortunately, it fell and when I went to pick it up I suppose I grabbed the prickly part - And you guessed it- I got cactus prickers stuck in my hand. So My friend (who thought it was pretty funny) and I went outside and decided to break the news to my mom (she took it rather well- she expects these things by now) and she says to go ask the sales people for tweezers because she's sure that this happens ALL the time. Yeah. Right. Well, we went back inside and told them what happen and asked if they had any tweezers (You could just tell that she was trying SO HARD not to laugh because, of course, it DIDN'T happen all of the time). Fortunately, they did have tweezers (that someone had left there) and my friend and I spent the next 30 min or so picking thost prickers out of my hand. That real friendship for you, helping you remove cactus prickers.

So the moral of the story is cactus prickers are NOT your friend and when your mom says that it happens all of the time your the FIRST one it has ever happen to.
