.K.i.T.t.Y.'s and Blue Eye's Joint Contest

Alright. This here is me and Kitty's joint contest. Here's what you're gonna do.

Whip out the creative hat. The only thing that you will have to base your poem upon is a mirror. For example, what do you see in the mirror? There are many things that can be done to this mirror, another example being, maybe it takes you to a different dimension? It's all up to you. All of the entries will need to be posted on this topic. Entries will be judged on the following:

-creativity. This is a big part. Don't just tell me you're looking into a mirror unless you have a good story behind it.

-grammar usage. Is it too basic?

-rhythm and flow. Have a beat.

-correct punctuation, etc. I'm out of sarcastic comments.

-Most importantly, apparent effort. You don't have to be a brilliant poet (that would be nice, though), just show us that you tried hard!

It would help if you could PM Blue Eyes (aka Me) for me to know that you've entered. This is so that Kitty can know how many we're judging when I tell her. Rewards will be determined by Kitty and me.

My Cracked Heart [Kyrielle Sonnet]

A glazed reflection stares at me;
With horrid stories for all to see,
And bright blue eyes are fading out,
Filling my cracked heart with doubt.

I used to be young and so carefree,
'Till they went and taught me mediocrity;
The meaning of life, what it was about -
Filling my cracked heart with doubt.

A milky smile broken down with lies,
From forgotten stories in my blue eyes,
And they sugarcoat the truth without -
Filling my cracked heart with doubt.

A Kyrielle Sonnet consists of 14 lines (three rhyming quatrain stanzas and a non-rhyming couplet).
Just like the traditional Kyrielle poem, the Kyrielle Sonnet also has a repeating line or phrase as a
refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza).

Rhyme scheme:

AabB, ccbB, ddbB, AB -or- AbaB, cbcB, dbdB, AB.

Hey, I'm extending the deadline to Wednesday. I'll hopefully be able to judge Thursday/Friday.
