How do you get poems published??

Two of my poems i have been told are really good and i have been told to try and get them published but i don't know how! so how would i go about doing that?

Published where? in a book or something?

A couple of friends and I are compiling our poems, one of them is actually a member here too.. her web name is "angel" or "awww"
anyway, once we've compiled enough of our works I'll make a draft of the book and submit it to a publishing house, see if they like it..

Well see i don't know where or how to get my poem published the main one i want to try and get published is "suicide"

You can publish your poem at http://www.lulu.com/ or try to find at google.com

Though you will have to sift through this (it includes information on almost every aspect of writing from many members), there is a lot of information on getting published, including a list of regular magazines and e-zines listed at the below link. It is locked, but you can still access the information.
