Help: Learning to write poetry

A few years ago... I couldn't get poetry, I didn't get it at all. I read a few poems on another website, and I thought "I wish I could write that" so I started with basic poems, basic rhyming. Then I tried to expand my poetry, finding interesting styles that were different. Though I still do not match up to some poets on this site, I feel that I have improved.

Poetry is a hard thing to become passionate about, but once you're hooked on it, it just becomes more beautiful and more thoughtful.
