THE DOUBLE STANDARD

When guys have multiple sex partners (or a lot of them) then it seems like it's all good and they are praised. But when women does that they are called whores, sluts, and everything else.

What are your views, and do you know any other double standards?

Your right in thinking that... If a man sleeps with many women, that will make him as a man who's good around the bed, and will get recognition for it. If a women does it, she is nothing more than a prostitute...

This is because if a man does it he will not become pregnant in the due process...According to them...I guess it all comes down to the biology of the human anatomy..

There you go Becca! - Noir's a man and he's a slut. Its just that guys use that word more often - but if we (as women across the globe) unite and start calling men sluts more often (feel free to make up other names too "Man Whore", "sphinctor muncher", "dick nose"... you know... be creative!)... then it will become that everyone is sluts... then we can all be equal! Isn't that what the world wants???

Man Whore...Well I never...I never once prostituted myself for money...

That's disgusting *Twinkle in his eye*

A very attractive young lady insinuated that she would do anything I wanted for money
So I let her clean my house, and do my laundry. When I paid her for her services a rumor was started that I was her sugar daddy. I ask my long time friend, and supervisor what they called someone on the receiving end of a sugar daddy, and she said a bimbo. Now I fear that even though my house, and clothes are cleaner I am perceived as a dirty old man. If I am a sugar daddy does that make my wife a milk dud?

  • Mo

Well firstly, if you are the sugar daddy - that your wife would be the sugar mother - which kinda means she's a sweet mumma! I dont think she'd mind being a sweet mumma??

And what is so bimbo-ish about a woman earning money from doing something that is usually done in their own house for their own husbands etc for FREE?! (ooooo - I expect to get some anti-sexist comments now for that one people - dont disappoint me!) :)

    xx

You best be tripping on those so called stones above the blue skiiiiess...Lol..But what's a milk dud...? Does it have milk?

    Lol...

And Micheal you seem to romantizes everything in your life, is it really that intresting?

  • Mo

    That is not true!!!

... I was always picked before Pee-Wee Herman at baseball!!! (He was usually still getting his head out of the toilets...) :)

"And Micheal you seem to romantizes everything in your life, is it really that intresting?"

The only way I could sale an autobiography is to write it as a comedy
Although, I get a lot of respect on this site lol I try not to take myself too seriously
Not many of the moderators here seem to encourage romanticizing in a discussion forum. I am not saying that the women I write about do not have convections, it is unfortunate however that many have had their convictions read to them by a county judge. That is enough said about tragedy

I would like to share a funny story about a Villanelle I wrote as a challenge on another site
I felt inspired to write about Infatuation and the poem by that title is publish in the Taj Mahal Review. When I posted it on this site it could only be entered in the explicit section. I can't be sure, but I think it was because of this line "The dirt of our lust unbroken by your hoe, or harrow". Is that funny or what?

I am not so sure about this post. where i live it is nearly equal. yes there is a small difference in that guys may get away with more. but there is this girl in my town who is labeled as a "slut" and has been for several years (not without reason, even other "sluts" think she is one). now you say that the girls get labeled worse yet there is this guy in my town also who gets around, not as much as the girl, yet he is labeled "man whore" and many people do not like or respect him as a result. he has done less and received the same reaction. i believe that our society is starting to right itself on this issue.

don't forget, if there is a guy being promiscuous, there is also a girl being promiscuous (and vise versa).

"almost everyone has had multiple partners before their 16th birthday...."

    Haha. Tell me about it.

    I agree with bob (mostly)...

In most situations women are considered to me nurturers or whatever and don't expect certain things from them as well as expect them to be a certain way.

It truly sucks though and something has got to change.

"a child in a divorce proceeding almost always ends up with the mother, regarless if the father is a better parent"

yes they usually don't just end up with the kid but with everything else as well. i asked my dad today why he has stayed with my mum for so long and he basically said that if he divorced my mum he would loose his dignity and respect, loose the house and everything but the clothes off his back. he has no where else to live so he would have to live on the streets. he said he has seen to many men before him go through the same thing and simply fall to pieces. plus women can be divorced from their husbands and be living with another man who can support them yet still the ex husband has to pay maintenance. 50 years ago women used to get nothing. now men get nothing i'm waiting for the day where both genders are truely equal but i very much doubt that's going to happen in my life time.

and with the man hitting woman gets arrested but if woman hits man it is said he deserved it. i have heard too many men complain about that. and i know that there are many women out their who are just as big and strong as there hsubands and could knock their lights out if they wanted to.

once again this world sterotypes wayyy to heavily...

Everything is double-standard. Some people will always prefer men over women or vice-versa. Mothers get there children because they had them. You can argue all you want that a man is just as much responsible, but did you carry the baby for nine months? As for sports guys seem to underestimate the ability of women. Women constantly have to prove themselves as equals. About being called sluts, women call each other sluts more often then men, we're to blame for that.

Tis true, we do benefit from being your friends. That's the way the cookie crumbles. And though I'm sure us few appreciate the 'greater lateral,' if you treated us the same as other members, I think you would be surprised to find we like you just as much. BUT THAT'S NOT A SUGGESTION! Heh. We're friends with you because you're worthy, not because you have some stupid authority. Believe that, because in fact, I tend to despise all authority figures.

    Yep.

    Double standards...

Blacks can say racial slurs about their own race, when whites can not about the black race. When whites use black racial slurs, they are condemned by all sides. When blacks use the same ones, it's considered acceptable to do so because logically they have no offensive effect coming from an African American.

And though it's true women are more readily called sluts than men for the same sexual acts, men are more readily given other offensive terms. If someone calls you a bitch, do you take it or do you flip out? If you call a guy an asshole, does he take it or flip out? Bastard, asshole, prick, jerk...On this website alone, girls are frequently posting threads with questions like, "Are all men assholes?" And they usually get responses of, "Yes," or words of comfort.
