Lovers and Liars

Woke up this morning with a pounding in my head -
Realizing I was in someone else's bed.
Looking around at all the clothes, scattered -
I thought that it didn't, but really, it mattered.

I thought to myself, "I can't do this anymore."
All the while, retrieving the items off the floor.
Leaving the bar, each time with someone new;
"This was not the way to ever forget you..."

New drink concoctions, I'm losing my senses -
Leaving the bar and hoping over the fences.
Running around wild, I was never this way...
What happened to the sweet child of yesterday?

So as I pick up my shirt and my ripped up jeans,
I realize that things aren't always as they seem.
His slight snoring is all the reminder that I needed,
To know that my expectations were not exceeded.

I take one last look at what I have become
As I head outside into the unforgiving sun.
The dark circles apparent under my tired eyes,
As realize that I've lost count of all the guys.

"I am done with living my life this way.
I am finished and I'm changing as of today.
No more with these lust-filled, broken desires,
I'm saying goodbye to all the Lovers and Liars."
