Online Relationships?

Well, I'll start off by saying I have major trust issues ^_^. I can't trust people easily, and it can possibly take years. I realize there are a lot of online preditors and so forth.. But what is the opinion on online dating? I feel like I can get to know people better by talking to them online or on the phone before I actually have to face them. The chances are sometimes slim for meeting that person, etc. How do you guys feel about it?

I have friends online, but i believe it is impossible to have an online relationship for you don't really know the person as well as you would for real.
    don't try it.

I had an "online relationship" that lasted for about 7 monthes... I'm in the United States and she lived in Norway. The feelings we felt were very VERY real... she came up and we met in real life for a week, and then a month after she left I went to Norway and stayed with her for 2 weeks...

It was great, but in the end, like you said... trust... if you have trust issues it won't work... in the end she ended up leaving for a guy in real life because he could actually physcially be there for her =s

I'd say it's a no go man.. there's always somebody where you live =).. and if you don't believe that then you're just not looking hard enough =p

Really, I'm the one person on this site who would never outright say NO to anything someone wants to try, but this is one thing I'm strongly against. My ex I'd known for years (in fact he was another ex's cousin >_<) and the year we re-met I moved to Oregon from LA. It DID NOT work. In a relationship, you need, no not sex, but physical closeness. There are things you miss online, the tone of someones voice, the expression on their face, etc. It causes a LOT of little misunderstandings that can turn into fights because you take something someone says the wrong way. Plus, people are HUGELY different online for that same reason why you like online.

    You're free.

You don't have to deal with the pressure of talking to someone face to face. You know that if something goes wrong, they're a thousand miles away. Using the internet to tell people important things takes away, in my opinion, some of the meaning because it's the easy way out. People hold their emotion in their eyes. People give off vibes, too. You may never notice it, but you can usually tell how someone is feeling just by body language, etc. All the things they don't say. You can know someone online. And you can know someone in RL. Two DIFFERENT people, trust me.

I dont belive in online relationships i mean i think its kinda pointless to have a boyfriend that you will never see i mean idk its just not for me and its not for you if you have trust issues..
