OMG thats good one. It's weird how a symbol of fear can be treated like that lol....kinda makes you want to feel sorry for him lol...but o well.

Yes their are alot of Christian that also fallow witchcraft and/or Wicca and mix them together, however witchcraft is considered damnable by the Bible. That also includes people who claim to see the future, any tipe of devanations, and spell casting will all get you a free ticket to hell acurding to the bible. But yet some of them will mix it with Christian beliefs and others will dabble.

I guess I have a few free tickets to Hell then. Wanna come with me? :)

I'm F.I.N.E.-Freaked up, Insucure, Neurotic, and Emotional. see I'm FINE! lol but your right we're all sucure with out religion just as they are secure with there own. So why is it that everyone must push everyone else to be secure with there own religion and anyone that doesn't beleive the same is wrong and is going straight to hell!?

I hate when people think if you're not Christian or Catholic you're going to Hell. It's like, fine then, if you're not in my my religion then you can go with me! HA!

Hahaha lol, really I think that we all(each individual Wiccan) selectes their own god and goddess, and it doesn't really matter what religion that we choose them from. I personal like to pick the one that best fits the discription of the god/dess which I personaly think is more of Isis(Egyptian mother goddess) and Osiris(father god that dies once a year and is reborn again the next year). But some people when they choose their own god and when they choose Isis they choose Re, because he is the sun god, and isn't that what the god of Wicca is also supposed to be.

Some people choose the Celtic Panteon, others choose the Greek, and others choose others! So I really don't think that it matters what god/dess you choose, just aslong as you know that they are your god/dess for whatever reason that you've choosen them!

^^So tell me why do you like Isis and Osiris?

And why choose all those different pantheons...Do they all exist together, do they live in one roof?

Are they like the show FRIENDS....Where Osiris is the dorky one Ross, Isis is the fashion obsessed Rachel, Re is the Annoying Father and Mother of Both Ross and Rachel (Osiris and Isis)...Lol.

It would be an interesting show to watch...Instead of the name friends...I wonder what it would be called?

Okay that was kindof funny but kindof offensive! Hmm...but it wouldn't be a bad show, It wouldn't be friends, It would be "Gods" or Panteon" or something like that, lol.

I don't know why we get the choise in the god/dess, but we do so, I'm happy with it. And in Egyptian mythology, Isis and Osiris are like maried and every year he dies and and leaves Isis pregnant to give birth to Osiris again in a few month during the solctice. and then he goes through the stages of life like any normal human, birth, childhood, puberty, teen, adult hood, and then death. As for the goddess, she goes through Maiden, mother, and crone. And each fase of the god/dess falls on a solstice or other important Wiccan holiday, and is celabrated my Wiccans all around the world!

And each person somehow is connected to the diffrent pantheons, Maybe someone that chooses the Celtic panteon is of Celtic(Irish) desent. I just think that Isis and Osiris fit better in the story then some other gods and goddesses in the mythologies of Wicca. Such as I would not choose Zesus and Hera(Greek Pantheon) as my god/dess because they don't really fit the story of the Wiccan holidays and the other stories in it. But I might consider a Celtic god/dess because many of the stories of Wicca are of Celtic orgin.

Me personal? Really the same one that all the other Wiccan's do, I just use the Egytian god/dess Isis and Osiris. Hm... I thought that I mentioned that like 3 times now lol.

Really...Have you just chosen that because of the pagan interpretation of it...If you did, clearly, then tell me have you ever researched the cultural significance of the Gods you picked...

I mean, from my ancestors perspective she was "Aset" deification of the wife of the pharaoh, Isis protected the dead body of the Pharaoh, since this was seen as an intrinsic part of her job as royal protector. The name Isis comes from an onomatopoeic Asianic word, Ish-ish, meaning 'she who weeps'

Picking and choosing who to believe in is one thing, but if you don't learn the culture of the pantheon, then that makes it even worse...Don't you think?

I'm all for people reinventing the whole concept of deities that has become myths...But learn the culture first.

!!!! I wasn't applieng my own meaning, her place in Egyptian mtythology was the mother and wife of Osirisl! I'm not an idiot! And each year Osiris would die and rule the underworld! I didn't just take a book open it, and point to a name and say "Oh that looks good, I think that I'll make her my mother goddess and then find her husband and make him my father god!"!!! Do you really think that I was that desprett to find a deitey!? If I couldn't find one I would have just called them God and Goddess! I looked in to both Greek and Egyptian mythologies and panteaons, I am most familier with Greek!

And why do I need to know the culture, when I clearly have my own! I'm not tring to join the ancient Egyptian religion, I have joined the Wiccan religion! If you ask many other Wiccans (many of them also use Isis as there goddess) they will also tell you that she is a mother goddess. Why are you tring to argue with me over my religion, don't you have your own to ponder? I think that when Kevin, in another post, called out for what you were, just a verbal splering paracite! You like to pick on anyone that you can and attack them with your words!

Maybe if you can't be kind to others religios beleifes you should mind your own, or sirusley question your own! I would say that honestly that I wouldn't care if I never see your opinion on here again but that would just make you more prone to post an attack after every post! I honestly think that if you can't say something without being offensive, or acting like a big headed, holy than tou, cause my crap don't stink! Now that's funny...Calling me a parasite, for questioning or indeed telling you to respect the actual religion you took Osiris and Isis from, because from what I can tell there are still people who believe in the Egyptian Pantheon, and practice them in the way the ancient Egyptians did.

If I wanted to believe in Morrigan, I would practice believing in her with respect to the culture she actually came from. It's just that simple.

Paganism is anything outside the monothestic faith, like Buddhism or Hinduism...By the way tell me, have you ever picked as your god and goddess...Brahma or Sarasvati or Vishnu or Lakshmi or Shiva and Parvati/Shakti...?

You seem to just have a random pick of which god or goddess you'd like...Just because their mythology appeals to you.

I respect paganism, in terms of Hinduism and Buddhism...But I will never respect Wicca or any other religion that would take a deity from it's culture and not understand why the people and the culture themselves believe in them...

But I'm sorry that you feel that your religion has been criticised...I frankly find the whole premise of religion...Not needed.

I don't understand why you would want to come into a Wiccan post and critisis what they believe! Thats just stuiped. I think that maybe if you can't even respect the religion or its ideals maybe you should just stay out of the discusion!

Like I said just stick to your religion and stop critisising others. I beleive my way and you go on with your's.

If there was a Muslim post, I wouldn't go in there and say"Oh there all just a bunch of nut cases that want to go out and kill inocenent people just so they can go screw a thousand virgins with Allah!" I have more RESPECT for others than that! and maybe if people can't have more tolarance for something they shouldn't particiabate in anything that has to do with that!

Hmm...You've just shown intolerance and ignorance in something you know nothing about. This is not a critique now is it...It's an attack.

But I would say to you that those "Nut Cases" are wrong in their thinking, and are in serious need of psychological help, and there will never be any paradise in killing innocent people...

But ofcourse, you never actually read what Islam is about all you're doing is making a generalized assumption about one religion. When I infact made a specific critique of yours.

I find that appauling...I wonder why you never pray to the Hindu Gods....Hmm?

I personally mix and match a bit, but my favorite god is Thoth and my favorite goddess is Kali.

Yeah, that right Liz, "love everybody!"!!! LoL any way, does anyone know were I might find some covens in my home town? The town that I live in is a farley small town, Umm...mostly Christian, but I don't think that there isn't not a few Wiccans in my town. Really the hole countey is faily small and domantly Christian, I beleive but a girl at work was telling me that she know of a few people that were wiccan, so I thought that maybe I could start a Wiccan "Bible" study, for lack of a better phrase. And just hold it in own of the locally resteraunts. We would annonce it in the classafieds, but I'm not really sure. But I would really like to find a coven in town or close to town, does anyone know how I might find one?

Announcing it in the newspaper might be a little risky. People tend to discriminate Wiccans.

I'd say go to your nearest metaphysical shop, at least some of the peple in there are bound to be Wiccan. Or ask a clerk about it. Also see if there is a bulletin board in there, someone might have something about a coven, who knows? Good luck!
(I'm a solitaire myself, so I've never really searched for a coven, those are just some tips out of a book I have.) ^_^

LOL, well the nearest shop like that, I think is out of town(accualy out of county!). And I thought about that too, thats why I was hesatent to do so. Right now, I'm solitairey right now, but I would like to find other Wiccans in town so....I don't know, some covens won't allow anyone under 18 join the covens or rituals so, I suppose that I might wait till I move out on my own right now, but I would really like to find one right now.

Well in regards to the covan, me and my friend from work know's a few other Wiccans so we are now in the works of creating the Wiccan "Bible" study that I was telling you about. Tonight we were working on like the places that we could meet, so we made a list of all the resturants around or area, and also included Library's and parks so we hope to have it up and going(she's going to tell her friends about it, and she is considering becoming Wiccan.) soon we just have to smooth out some rough edges that may take a couple weeks but shouldn't be too long! *Very exited about it!!*

^That's cool. My best friend isn't Wiccan but we do some Wiccan stuff together, like write pells and make potion recipes. It's quite fun with one or two other people.

Yep, it's in the works, so soon my small little town will have a Wiccan study group! Well accualy, we want to get the hole of Ripley countey involved. So we made a list of places that we could meet in the towns, like resturants, parks, and the libraries. I set up a myspace group for "Wiccans of ripley county, Indiana" and thought of the days and times. Most likley on weekends, from 12 for about an hour or two, or from about 5-7. Right now, I'm trying to make a Flier. but I'm Kind of stuck. I chose a celtic knot disign for the header, but have no idea what to put on it, so if any of you could be of any help that would be great!

Hey all! We're that much closer to getting the group open, we're thinking about in 2 weeks on Tuesday we will have it all in order to get this sucker made and have people to join, We just have to finish the flyers, I need a little help with them though. I'm not really sure what to put on them??!!!

I'd put (obviously) what time, place, etc. along with any items to bring. You might also want to put what type of Wiccan you are (I'm faerie myself) etc. etc. Hope your group works out!

Finally, the flyers are done! yay! so now we are all going to meet up at the public library in 2 weeks on tuesday, Hopefully! So I'm kindof nervous now. but Oh well.

Well I don't really know LOL I'm not really Eclectic, because I don't just pick and chose but I don't know if you could call me Celtic beacause I have Isis and Osiris as my god/dess so Idk really LOL If anything, I'm more Celtic/Eclectic/Wiccan so I guess that I'm just a plain Wiccan! Oh and in September I'll be in a Wiccan for a full year! Yay! So does that mean if I join a coven I'll still have to study again for a year and a day or since I've already had that can I just have the Inisiation.

Also, I know that I am Wiccan, but I'm kindof fear ful of the initiation ritual, because I know that it is totally binding and there is NO way out of it! But I do know that I am Wiccan! So I don't know.....

I just thought about it and i think that I may have mintioned it up in another post, but, I'm a solitary wiccan looking to find a coven!

I'm not too much for the Celtic type, the skyclad thing is a bit much for me. Feri though lets you add in whatever you want and you don't have to be bound by a coven...
And you'll be accepted into the coven, most likely, then if you want to get up to level 2 you'll probably have to do another year-and-a-day study, depends on your coven really.

Well, It's 2 days till the first Wiccan study group, and I think that I'm having doubts. Doubts about any one showing up, doubts about the girl doing this thing with me, I just really don't know about any of this! I think that I may have made a huge mistake even tring to do this! OMG I don't know! :,(

Well give it a shot, and if it doesn't work out, try again in a couple weeks.

Hey again, we had had our group Tuesday! saddly only 3 people were there, it consisted of me, the other girl that I started it with, and a woman that I emailed on mysapce, so we hope to have a better turn out in 2 weeks(Sept. 4). So I'm working on editing the flyers! well gota run!
