As I stand at the door of our once happy home
Dipped in dark shadows and here all alone

Crystal clear tears fall down from my eyes
Embedded so deep on my soul torn inside.

Torment now scatters the dust in my mind
Mere recollections of love saw through time

So strong is the heartache that pulls at my breath
It renders me sleepless within its caress.

Love's shackles once tender now bind me so tight
As the black moon comes calling again on this night

True torture of soul for the pain that I see
That dwells in the pieces of lost memories.

Dark stars fade so quickly among all the tears
The night winds turn cold, forever, I fear

Love's web holds me tangled and tied on the wall
You leaving me here, taking nothing at all.

The view traps my mind and soul to the core
As I look at our home from inside the door

Dipped in dark shadows, dust scatters anew
And blankets my heart with the memory of you.

Head And Heart At War.

I can feel your breath upon me, etching at my skin.
Slowly sending chills as if they're my bodies friend.
Personified looks of ghosts repeat throughout the night,
as little objects roam the room, looking for a fight.
I can heart your words come out, " I so dearly love you."
And, I can feel the tears run down your cheeks, " I miss you too."
But, how much do you know - - you're not here on earth.
You can't feel these things that fears seem to bring forth.
I know a million miles away, you're content with where you are.
But, somehow I just feel you're not really that far.
For, it's my head and heart at war, fighting for the truth.
And, I can see your ghost beside me sitting at this booth.

I'm Not Sorry

How could I ever be sorry for the way that I felt?
It's no one's fault that your kisses made me melt.
Your eyes held my gaze for many of those days -
But in the end, you were just too far gone in your ways.
I could never feel bad about the way you made me feel,
Because once upon a time, I knew that it was real.
Your hugs could once light up even the darkest night;
But after awhile, I just gave up; you're not worth the fight.
There were days that your lips were magic to me -
But somehow I missed everything else there was to see.
You were the one who finally opened up my hazel eyes -
And it's sad to say, it also made me come to realize:
There's better things that I could be wasting my time on.
Not that I blame you, you're just to far gone.
But I'm Not Sorry for everything, not sorry at all -
I just needed someone who was stronger to catch my fall.

Walking into the empty house
With only silence as my guide,
I look around the darkened room,
Remembering the feeling of you at my side.

Glancing into murky shadows,
Trying to recall how it all looked in the light,
Feeling strong emotions rise,
As it did on that first night.

Smiling at the recollections
Of how I used to feel.
Now finding it hard to distinguish between
What was false and real...

...Wondering if what we had
Was ever true.
I want everything back,
Everything back, but you!

Thinking back to how happy I was -
I want to feel it all again.
All those emotions, I want it once more.
I want everything back except you, Ben!

I'm not sorry for who I am,
What I've done or what I know,
I'm not sorry for anything,
I've learned to just let go.

Let go of the useless pain,
Let go of the spite,
Letting go of everything,
That just does not feel right.

Hold on to the tenderness,
Remain loyal to the dream,
That love will find its way to you,
Though far away it seems.

The Wrapped Refrain, created by Jan Turner, consists of 2 stanzas of 6 lines each;Meter: 8,8,8,8,12,12 and Rhyme Scheme: a,a,b,b,c,c.

Refrain rule: In each stanza the first 4 syllables (or 4 single-syllable words) in the first line must be the last 4 syllables (or 4 single-syllable words) at the end of the last line. This is what wraps each stanza with a repeated refrain ...thus, the Wrapped Refrain.

I once looked to you and you just pushed me away
When she was scared you always knew what to say
You were there for her and she didn�t care
When ever you�d kiss her my heart would tear

So finally I got you to notice me
I thought to myself �WOW! This could never be!�
You slowly became my everything
She started to fade away to nothing

Always be friends no matter what happens to �US�
That was the promise we made for if this was only lust
We went on together and became so strong
Until the day the bad news came everything felt so wrong

I dropped to the ground my eyes filled with tears
You picked me up and held me together for all those years
Now you�re moving and my mind can�t handle this pain
You tell me to clam down we have a month until you get on that plane

We decided to go on like nothing was tearing us apart
Like we wanted to be from the very start
You are now my very best friend so losing you id be so lost
The sad thing is I love you and I always will no matter the cost

You are the best thing that ever happen to me
Without you here with me I don�t know if id still be
Now my life will be empty and ill have no one for sure
And you�ll find a new girl to take my place like I took hers

I'll be taking a leave of absence from the site for a while due to personal reasons, I'll get to judging upon my return.

It Happened One Night

Laying in the grass, just staring at the stars,
I found my mind wandering, wondering how you are.
I hope that you are happy; I hope that someone cares -
Because you know, forever, I will always be there.

I promised you a thousand times that you have my heart -
No matter how far we may go, we're never that far apart.
Life is cruel and life plays tricks, but we'll make the most of it;
Together we stand, hand-in-hand, and that's something, I'll admit.

The grass was cold under my back, but I didn't really mind -
I just let the memories take me back, as my body began to unwind;
The tension just melted away, and for a time, I could smile -
It was something so unfamiliarly pleasant; I hadn't felt that in awhile.

The stars, they twinkled absently, playing to their own beat -
Just like the time when we danced, when our bodies did meet.
Slowly we moved, our eyes locked, dancing hand-in-hand -
No better moment I ever spent, no bigger prize I did land.

I tried to match each star, for each reason I loved you,
But when I reached a million, I realized stars were few.
They twinkled and they disappeared, making it hard to keep track -
But my reasons, they did grow, as I kept looking back.

Your eyes showed me you care; your hands, they held me tight;
Your words could quell my fears and tell me what's wrong or right.
You kind heart let me in to a place no one dared to go,
And in return, I loved you; I just wanted you to know.

Your smile brightened up my days when the world seemed so cruel -
Your laughter made me giggle. not feel like the fool.
You caring ways did catch me when I began to fall -
Your loving manner broke right through my defensive wall.

Your jokes could make me laugh, I still hold each moment in time;
Each precious gift you gave to me, I could never call them mine.
For they were shared between two souls, bonded at the heart -
A touch, a smile and a laugh; it was true love from the start.

So as I counted the memories, my phone began to ring -
Never had a phone call brought such joy as yours could bring.
"Honey, I'm so sorry, I never meant for us to fight.
Can you please forgive me? Without you, nothing's right?"

"I've been waiting for your call, hoping you still cared -"
"Babe, you know, I told you, I will always be there."
"Then let's move on from this, and put the past behind.
It's no use dwelling on mistakes, I have come to find."

"Honey, I'm so glad to hear it, because I have something to say -
Remember what I said? It was just the other day?
I told you that I loved you, and I would forever.
So don't ever be afraid because I'll stop next to never."

The call didn't last much longer; there was nothing left to say -
But I learned something special and I learned it that day:
No matter what happens, your heart may just be right.
So I guess you could say I fell in love; It Happened One Night.

Change of Command

Stuck in the grounds of a shadowy hole,
Feeling like life itself had no eternal soul.
My world was always filled with bleakness and despair,
Wherever anyone else was, I longed to be there.

Each night itself had formed into a routine:
We'd play a game of "Good Guy Gone Mean".
He'd get out his fists, and he'd laugh in delight
At my sordid, pathetic and worthless sight.

Then one day while reading, alone in my room,
I looked out the window from my deathly tomb.
There I saw a couple holding hands and in love,
And right there and then I asked for help from above.

The next night his drunken smelly breath pursued,
But I found the strength to retaliate despite his angry mood.
"You raise those fists once more to my face,
And I'll kick you right down and put you right in your place."

My voice was filled with menace, I loved every word,
He looked right in my eyes as if I was being absurd.
I lifted my right arm, and got ready to strike;
Just to give him a taste of what he made me feel like.

It`s a sad reality to face when you come this far and nothing`s what you find -
