My Dream: "The End In 2010"

"he day of Judgement? Get a grip mate.

How many times have we, even say in the last 50 years, been faced with the final day? 1999..everyone was sure the world was going to end...christians on Tv said they had seen signs...the devil was about to seize the world...people gave up all their possessions...and nothing happened.

    Then it was 2000...and nothing happened...2001...ah a miscalculation...and nothing...now it's 2010...yeah some kind of magical year.

It never happens. I think the day of judgement is a myth created to scare people into following a belief system that enforces political ideals.

But if you have some other evidence that I'm wrong, then please share it...cause the numbers are against you.
    "
this is all according to my beliefs.

no one knows, not even the son himslef knows when this day is supposed to come. so numbers don't really matter.

    None taken.

we were perfect, then someone screwed it up.

    Adam and Eve.

He made us in his own IMAGE, not the same as him, not a God. And man started off perfect, but because of our own choice, we fell

"If you are perfect than you are not capable of making mistakes. Taking the apple from the tree is called temptation. And having temptation as a trait resticts you from being perfect."

temptation isn't a sin. it's free will. giving in is the sin that makes u imperfect

Its like in a Class at school. you start out with an "A" 0/0 as soon as you do something wrong than you loose points.

so we weren't perfect but we were, kinda. we just had a clean slate, we hadn't done anything wrong.

    Oops, too late.

"So does God have temptation as well? Tempting to somthing to my knowlage is usually somthing that you should forsake yourseflf from attempting. So does God force himself not to attempt things that intrest him?"

God doesn't do anything wrong, he is perfect.

what makes God perfect is that whatever he does is right, and his intentions couldn't be more in the right place.

temptation isn't from God. it comes from Satan and freewill. since God is the author of both, He is not tempted, but is wholly and purely perfect. so, being wholly perfect even if he were to be tempted, it would be impossible for Him to give in.

I already made this point, a while ago.

    Faith beats Logic, every time.

  • the song writer

I explained why up there, like a week ago.

according to logic, faith shouldn't even exist. logic has no explanation for faith.

    therefor faith tops logic.

(correction) my explanation was in another forum ("faith") but you get the picture.

Warning, your wish for me to experience divine wrath will never come, and it's a sad indication of the attitude that many Christians, particularly hard core fundamentalists have towards anyone who questions the tenets of their faith.

BELIEVE OR DIE!!.........wow, I'm so humbled by those options. If you could only see how repulsive that kind fo attitude is to people who do not believe, you would be upset with yourself, because you are not spreading the good word like you are supposed to, you are spreading anger, fear and resentment, which I think is a sin..

Dark Christian, logic has it's place alongside faith. Logic for example saves lives where faith does not, though of course people claim faith does save lives, no one can ever prove it...they just "feel" it does...well how scientific. Logic has brought us medical and scientific advancements that have improved the world tenfold.

If you came upon a car crash with several people injured, some possibly dying...you would need to use some quick logical thinking if you wanted to save anyones lives....waiting for faith to help out would not help I feel...

Logic and faith need to be employed together....

I think if employed together, logic and faith could be nearly as strong as Darth Vadar and Luke Skywalker! (almost)

Suppose the logic in the situation described above by Kevin could be handy in some regards (calling ambulance, directing traffic around the accident, not moving the person in case of spinal injury) but faith can also play its part with praying for the person and keeping them calm and at peace.

    Hmm...

PS - IM GOING TO V FESTIVAL TONIGHT EVERYONE AND IM SO EXCITED...I JUST CANT HIDE IT.... IM ABOUT TO LOOSE CONTROL AND I THINK I LIKE IT... YEAH YEAH!

that's not the concept of the Christian faith at all. the concept of the Christian faith is that we have a Father who created us to love us and so that He could have someone to love Him. the reason that we are called to believe and accept Him and what He calls us to is because He gave us freewill and we screwed it up by disobedience. now we have the choice to love Him and accept His life or to live our own way. it is not that Christians place to condemn, although, unfortuantely that is often the role that the Christians who don't experience the true love that God has for everyone. and no one is perfect. that's part of it all too. the true faith, the true concept of everything boils down to one thing: love.

"If jugdment day is a myth. Then you are also implying that the bible is incorrect? Careful before Jesus strikes you with a vengful lightning bolt! How dare you say such blastphemy. Have you no shame? Having free will and speaking against God is not allowed. If you don't kneel to jesus and become his slave you will god to hell. Says so in the bible. All facts baby."

^ The sarcasm there is pretty apparent. Kevin, are you drunk or losing your sexy touch?

  • Kevin

Ah Jane, I'm drunk with power, like all Mods.

You might be surprised to know that I've had people say those kinds of things to me, online and in person and mean every word of it, so I didn't take it for sarcasm....but now you repost it, it does look a little over the top.

Still, joke though it is, the attitude it conveys was used by the poster because they knew it's common, which is still rather scary biscuits....

    So what you wearing girl?
