yeh that is the solution as of right now. I think the dilemma is that the website owner is:

    1. not here
    2. not sure how to change the spellchecker

but I agree that it is a bit messed up... there are a few common words that I won't accept. There is another topic about this somewhere.

That happens to me and when it does. i just go and spell check it myself until it accepts it.

I believe this happens when you type the poem up in Microsoft Word or some program like that, and then copy, and paste it into the "Submit Poem" box. Not exactly sure why, but, that's what I've found...

    Hmm .... Inconsistent results?

I never use the spellchecker here. My writing is done in a word processor (Wordperfect 9) and I never have experienced any problem when I copy and paste it into the "Submit Poem" box.

Oh well... I guess Word does things a bit differently. When I copied and pasted, it added all sorts of stuff to my poems that I couldn't see unless I used spell checker. Every time I used spell-checker, tho, that random invisible stuff would pop up elsewhere... Anyway...

it also says that words like didn't and couldn't are spelling mistakes. i have to write them as could n t. would be helpful if something was sorted out about this as it does annoy me a wee bit.

yeah, I've never had it do anything weird like than when I copy and paste from Word 2000. Although, I do try to cut down on my use of contractions, and if I've used a lot of them, I just automatically post it in slang first....then immediately edit it to the proper category.

I've been having problems with the spell check too is what I do is post like a line or two of my poem then click edit and put in the whole poem and it seems to accept it when I do it that way, hope you got my ramblings lol

The other thing that is wrong... and its not exactly a spellchecker issue, but it goes along those lines, is that if you edit a poem that is in the explicit category and then resubmit it, it says that you cant use profanity or unacceptable words. Therefor you have to delete the poem and resubmit it, you lose all your votes, comments, and views that way. As for the spell check problem, thats a big problem I encounter.
