Love and thorns.....

If a rose's thorns wound you, you drop the rose....always you remember that pain and try to be careful. But the more you handle said rose, then one day you will be hurt again....if the rose is love why do we continue to fall in love when its thorns can harm you again?

If I only knew the answer *sigh*
I guess love is one of those things that has no answer.
and like fools we fall for it over and over again..but who can blame us?
and really, what would life be without love?

    Safe. yes, i suppose.
    but not very good.

    I quote from a book :

But holding people away from you, and denying yourself love, that doesn't make you strong. If anything, it makes you weaker. Because you're doing it out of fear."
    "Fear of what?" I said
"Of taking that chance," she said simply. "Of letting go and giving into it, and that's what makes us what we are. Risks. That's living, Remy. Being too scared to even try it- that's just a waste. I can say I made a lot of mistakes, but I don't regret things. Because at least I didn't spend my life standing outside, wondering what living would be like."

Ans as Bleeding for his Amusement said ^ "Some things ARE worth buying bandaids for."

Because I think many of us enjoy the time when we're with that speacial person..sure not the heartache that comes afterward..but during it's beautiful..

We continue to fall in love because no matter what we say or what the thorns or pain from it does we still yearn for more.

Even if like a rose the thorns wound you and you let the rose go, and know it could harm you, you feel the need to pick up something so beautiful off the dirty ground beneath you. You have a need to do so.

Because love is like a drug, only its impossible to give up.
Once you've had a taste, you're life is empty unless you have it again. And if you get hurt, its all worth it, love is love, it fills you with love everytime you experience it, so much so that just for a moment you let the pain go, and just let love take over every part of you....

A rose is a beautiful way to describe love. I agree 100% with the original post. I would go back b/c even though it hurts, there's something there that makes it worth it.

Whats the point if the rose gives only thorns......

They don't give ONLY thorns..thorns are just part of what you get..but the most important part is the gorgeous flower itself.

Because even if love can make u feel so terrible, it can also give u a feeling of happiness like nothing else in the world can.

"Flowers die....just as everything living does....nothing is forever."

No nothing is which is why we've gotta make the best of what we have. If you handle a rose your definately going to be pricked but isn't holding the flower all the more worth it knowing the danger? It's human nature to love. We can't stop it. Give it another chance.
