    Here's a different kind of contest. And here are the rules:

    1.Any title.

    2.Any subject

    3. Anyway you want it

    4.Any style

    5. You cannot use the title in the poem

    You can't use the title in your poem because it usually throws the poem off because some poets get into their poem and then forget to put the title in the poem, henceforth rushing it and throwing the flow all outta wack.

    6. Ends August 29th, 2007

    7. Must be new as of August 9th, 2007

    8. You must write from your soul

    AWARDS:

    1st: 5 r/r/c 'n place on favorites
    2nd: 3 r/r/c
    3rd: 2 r/r/c

    ** Winners must PM their poems they want read. Tell me which wants in a PM or you don't get your comments. So no saying 'read any of them' because I wont read them and I'm not coming back to this thread once the winners are announced.

    Anyone can enter. You don't need to reserve. I just need to read a poem with the writer's heart in it and i havent found a poem like that lately.

    His forgotten birthday
    The boys parents were always working.
    They forgot a lot of things.
    They would always break his heart.
    Then try and make it up to him.

    One the boys birthday,
    They forgot about it,
    Well at least he thought they did,
    They always did.

    They were not home when he got up.
    They were not there all day.
    He went into there room,
    And felt a lot of gloom.

    He went to there cabinet,
    And started to sweat.
    He looks at the medicine,
    Then walked away.

    He walked into the kitchen,
    Going through the den.
    He walks over to the knifes.
    Preparing to take his life.

    When his parents got home,
    They saw him lying on the floor,
    And saw his dead corps.
    And all the blood.

    She screamed,
    He started to cry.
    They dropped a card,
    His birthday card.

    It said,
    They were sorry,
    They really did care,
    Please just keep holding on.

    i know it says he but it is from the botton of my heart! i may edit it!

    No such thing as the perfect world.
    I thought my life was perfect,
    Well pretty close.
    Then you started wanting into my life
    When you never wanted much to do with me.

    Then you flipped my whole world around!
    Making me feel like a quitter.
    Making me feel lost.
    You just have to be in control.

    Well guess what?
    You cannot control me.
    I will live my life,
    Not hat you want me to live!

    I know I am good enough,
    I know I am not a quitter!
    I know I am a good person,
    And you cannot worsen!

    You are the cause of my pain,
    And it is just a stupid game!
    Why do you play it?
    Well guess what!

    I can play mind games to,
    You are not the only one!
    There is someone else,
    Meet your match!

    You make me cry,
    But it makes me stronger.
    This is not a position you want to be in,
    Why do you do it?

    Do you get pleasure in mental torture?
    To you get pleasure in telling lies.
    Pouring them on?
    How doe sit feel?

    Welcome to this world,
    This none perfect world,
    Were you can only get what you want,
    When you fight.

    Well heres one written from the heart...

    Swirling Night of Skittles and Passionate Fires

    cold water rushes to tickle our toes
    waves crash around our ankles
    tingles shiver through our bodies

    a cliche walk on the moonlit beach
    but truly something so much more
    hidden shadows casting a loving dance

    burning flames licking the star covered ceiling
    full of desire and passion rising high
    love covers every inch of sand they touch

    cold sea breezes brings the two closer
    dazzling comets grant their wishes
    pure smiles drenching their faces

    adoration for one another says a little
    an ever lasting love says it all
    for they will always share those magical skittles

    check my quotes for an explanation of skittles

    Lost

    Cursed to wander,
    Blessed to see,
    Amused to find,
    What shouldn't be.

    Adrift today,
    The shore tomorrow,
    After I,
    Have drowned my sorrow.

    Taste the flesh,
    Drink the wine,
    Try to find,
    A sight divine.

    Toss and turn,
    Drunken dreams,
    Careless whispers,
    Broken screams.

    Days are lonely,
    Nights are cold,
    Love to give,
    But none to hold.

    POEM 1 = Drive By
    ::I added this under the title as "A Beautiful Day" on my profile::

    I look outside and see the clear blue sky
    It's such a beautiful day
    Green grass, singing birds
    There's beauty everywhere in every way

    So I decide to sit outside
    It's to beautiful a day to waste
    I watch the children running around
    And see one trip over his shoelace

    I get up in an attempt to help him
    But before I can I hear screams
    I see the cause of them and hide behind a car
    Hoping everything isn't as it seems

    There isn't a black car slowly driving by
    With guns pointing out with intent to kill
    People aren't running everywhere for cover
    While a little boy is lying deathly still

    Only I'm wrong and everything is happening
    And I don't know what I should do
    I want to help the little boy on the ground
    But my head is screaming "what about you?"

    The tears fall as I stay where I am
    And I squeeze my eyes shut with all my might
    Until I finally hear the car disappear
    And I run to the little boy and hold him tight

    He stares at me, unblinking
    And I wonder how this could be real
    I close his lifeless eyes
    Wondering if those people know who they just killed

    An innocent, young boy's life was taken
    He looked only about four or five
    How can he really be dead
    When a few minutes ago he was running around alive

    I don't understand how this could've happened
    How he died underneath such a clear, blue sky
    On this sweet beautiful day
    I guess it was a beautiful day to die

    POEM 2 = A Night to Remember

    The rain pours outside and the fire glows inside
    It's dark so she can barely see
    But she can feel his arms around her, holding her tight
    And she can hear his heartbeat against her ear
    He lowers his head so that he can whisper sweet nothings
    Ever so softly into her ear
    Sweet promises he has every intention of keeping
    She smiles with every sweet word
    And she tries to take a quick glance into his eyes
    But she gets stuck, pulled in with his gaze,
    Filled with such a passion she never knew
    And they stare for a moment,
    Making love with their eyes before he kisses her ever so lightly
    And he confirms everything that he whispered with his kiss,
    Slow and gentle
    Then the kiss becomes more intensified
    As he slowly pulls her to the floor with him
    She gladly follows, she'd follow him to the end of the world if he asked
    His hands roam, his tongue explores, he softly whispers "I love you"
    This is the moment she waited for her whole life
    All seventeen years of her life, waiting,
    Aching to find someone to love her
    She kisses his collarbone, his jaw, beneath his ear,
    She whispers back "I love you more"
    The night continues as the fireplace roars, the rains pours,
    And their bodies entwine with each other
    Filled with passion, no regrets, no tommorrow,
    She screams out at her most intimate moment
    He matches her scream with his own as a wave comes over them both
    Together filled as one, everything just feels so right

    Ruination

    I have come to set my angst upon the page
    Strokes of madness written in blood
    Words staining the flesh of a once vibrant tree
    Purging my mind of this vile world
    I could describe the beauty of the first spring bloom
    But winter shall sweep those thoughts away
    Freezing my veins
    There are few true fighters anymore
    We have amassed an army of leeches
    Slowly our world is dying
    We lay at her bosom like vampires
    Stealing her life blood
    Sinking our teeth into her flesh without hesitation
    We know no shame

    Love You Always
    By Yuna

    It seems almost like destiny
    A dream or a simple wish
    This feeling deep inside
    Is just too hard to miss.

    It calls out to my soul
    And it pounds at my beating heart,
    The emotion so sweet as this,
    Is truly a work of art.

    I only need to think of you
    And my happiness does swell,
    I wonder if you think of me,
    If you truly love me as well.

    At night I wonder how you are
    Before drifting to dreams full of clarity,
    And how I wish to be in your arms;
    Of protection, love and sincerity.

    So, although there are others
    Who have feelings I see
    I must listen to my pounding heart
    And know that I love thee.

    -----------------------------------------
    I wrote this from the heart and I hope it's enough. Thanks!

    I have one...

    Shadow on the Sideline
    by Memories of Kana and Hatori

    We met that day,
    And became good friends,
    Until I introduced you,
    To a "friend" I knew.

    You took to her,
    Like a needle and thread,
    Becoming perfect friends...
    Only soon to be lovers.

    Standing on the sideline,
    I watched your bond grow,
    I watched as you smiled,
    You laughed, you cried.

    At first, this made me smile,
    Watching and waiting,
    But before long, I realized,
    That to you, it was more.

    Confessing your love,
    She hugged you and said,
    "I love you too,"
    That moment is unforgettable.

    Your e-mails to me,
    Ceased to exist,
    And I lost a friend,
    As fast as we'd met.

    Standing on the sideline,
    I watched your bond grow,
    I watched as you smiled,
    You laughed, you cried,
    But I can't bear to watch,
    My existence slowly fade.

    ---------------
    This is from the heart...

    Good luck!

    Sweat, Blood, Tears.
    by Jessica

    Thrust backwards by the force of hate,
    Relinquishing power over twisted limbs,
    Sweat and blood soaking into salty wounds,
    Fury etched into a face, fading as the light dims.

    Sharp intakes of breath; ruby streams released.
    Pain trickles, final beats echo, a soul left to rot.
    Lifeless eyes mirror shock; color gradually drained,
    Adoration shattered; you killed me in one shot.

    Xx Diamond In The Sand xX

    Finding love in this lonely world
    Was like finding a needle in a haystack
    Discovering a diamond in the sand
    Nailing jelly to a tree
    Impossible...
    Or so it seemed...

    Something that just wasn't worth the effort
    The countless disappointments
    The tears...
    The hurt...
    Weighing down the fragile heart
    When something that felt like love
    Turned out to be a sham
    A red herring

    Love was something that was only found in the movies
    In books
    In the imagination...
    A sort of pipe dream

    But even pipe dreams can become a reality
    Love can find you when you least expect it
    When you cease looking
    It springs out of nowhere
    Like a long lost friend
    A best friend
    A lover

    You find that needle in the haystack
    And when you do, you realise it's something special
    The real thing
    Something worth waiting for

    I found my diamond in the sand
    And it's the most valuable diamond i could ever hope to own
    It's you

    Having To Let Go [Triolet]

    Baby, I just can't live my life this way;
    I'm sorry, but I have to let you go.
    I've made up my mind - there's nothing left to say.
    Baby, I just can't live my life this way.
    Dragging myself through each day,
    With nothing really to show.
    Baby, I just can't live my life this way;
    I'm sorry, but I have to let you go.

    ````````````````````````
    A Triolet is an 8-lined poem where the 1st, 4th, and 7th lines repeat as do the 2nd and 8th.
    Rhyme scheme is ABaAaAB where capitals represent refrains.
    All That's Left of Me
    By: Twisted Heart
    Shallow night, you look at me
    As I wait in shadows deep
    For stars to cast their sparkle kiss
    Upon my heart, I yearn for this.
    Lost thoughts, upon my soul release
    Comfort from dark dreams I see
    Inside me twists the memories
    Upon my mind in revelry.
    Vacant moon, I see you glow
    Upon the windswept icy snow
    That blankets all my hopes and dreams
    And falls upon my heart it seems.
    Now night will hold me to it's breast
    Tend broken pieces of my breath
    No hope to fill my life, you see
    Torn heart and soul's last tragedy.
    A shell vacant, lost in despair
    A heart torn loose that needs repaired
    My mind is gone, no eyes to see
    Transparent... but for my memories.
    I'll Take A Bullet For You doesnt understand sarcasm and obviously neither do you. And if you don't wish to participate in my contest, then obviously you have left so before you try to sound smart, realize that you're really not :) And that contest back in June? Yeah, um, not even 5 people entered it, so it wasnt really a contest genius. Also, I read your poem and I gotta tell you you're not that great of a writer so you wouldn't have won anyway. Just in case you wanted part of the result.
    And Gem, you gotta PM me your poems you want read. Please read the rules lol
    17 years ago
    Okay, I don't know why you don't like me and frankly I don't care either. You come to my contest, harrassing me, saying I don't complete my contests, you withdrew from my contest like many others have, and why? I don't know. You didn't even enter this contest. I wouldn't have said anything negative to you but you just had to open your mouth. You're not even involved in this contest so why are you here? If you had a problem with me, you could've sent me a PM. Those work too. Seriously, what told you to come to my thread, insult me, and tell everyone i am a bad contest holder because that isn't true. I have a job. I'm in marching band. I do 4H carteens. I'm in my youth group. I attend my youth groups bible study every tuesday. Im attending college tours. So, sorry if i forgot to rate your crappy poem but for the record, i read it, and honestly i would've given it a 2. So i forget one of my contests. How many other contests have you entered that have been held by me that i finished. And trust me sweetie there has been quite a few. You make it sound like I'm the only one on the forum who would forget a stupid contest over the internet which really isn't that big of a deal. And for the record, i didn't forget that contest. I didn't have time to tend to it anymore because unlike you, i don't live for this website. So, sorry if I have more important things to do than read your poems that you don't really care for my opinion about but really, i have a life. You need to get one too. It is not that serious. Grow up. Get a life. And stop being such a baby. Seriously.
