Whats it mean

My boyfriend and i were talking about 'us' yesterday, while waiting for my mom to pick us up from a concert. and we were discussing something id told him only a few days ago, i told him i think he's the one i want to spend the rest of my life with. [i know that sounds naive what with my age and all, but i know better than to expect what i said to happen... but i can want, cant i?] and he said he almost feels the same, except everything feels 'artificial' to him. like, not just us. see, he's been through a lot of changes over the past 6 months. kicked out of his dads house, met me in a runaway shelter, he went to jail for a couple of weeks and has pending charges for like, criminal mischief or something. but lately his life been improving.. he has a job, he passed school [not graduated, hes only going into 11th], hes 'got a girl who cares about him, the only person besides family' and he said sometimes he just wakes up, still thinking he's at his dads house and such, and he just feels like 'everythings a dream'
im not completely sure how to interpret that, maybe theres no interpreting to do?
anyways, anything would be appreciated.

Well it probibly all feels like a dream toh im beacuse life is getting better for him! he cant belive he is out of his dads house and all that beacuse maybe he has always had a hard life and since things are brightening up he just doesnt want it to end but afraid it might

Maybe he is scared of what is going to happen. Things are finally looking up for him and he doesn't want it to end. He has a great thing and wants to keep it. It sounds to me like he's happy but still feels like he hasn't quite woken up from the dream. Give him some time to let everything sink in. to let him get used to how is going to have to live his life now. Hope it helps.

Hmm artificial? maybe you came on a little strong. but then again you've talked about forever before and he was fine. hes probably confused and has a lot on his mind. or maybe hes unsure about sum things. give him sum time. if he loves you like he says he does, he'll know what he wants. =]]

Oh, side note,
he's usually the one talkign about forever and such,im pretty wary of that usually because i used to think forever with everyone and yeah.
he's usually the one makes little comments about forever or marriage and such. and he's the one who's idea it was to move in together [when he gets his apt.]

The crazy thing is, I understand what he said...good for me, because I thought I was the only one. I don't think things are artificial, though...it just seems like your dreaming, or sleepwalking through life...like for me, it kind of feels like I'm watching my life go by, without touching it. But that doesn't mean that things don't make me happy...my life is still the same...it's just sometimes, I don't think I can control it, it's just like carrying me off with it. Maybe that's what he meant, or sort of?

K, I completely understand what your boyfriend is feeling and means. Thank God I'm not the only one that feels that way lols

When things in your life have been really bad, you feel like it can't and won't get better, than all of a sudden WHAM things turn perfect and it's just such a huge change from what your used to and what you thought your life was going to keep being like that it all just doesn't feel real =p I never say that it's artificial but it feels like your in a dream and, for me personally, I just kept waiting to wake-up one day and find out I'd actually been asleep. There's nothing to wonder about and what he's saying isn't a bad thing in the least ^_^ To him, things are just so great in his life that he can't believe it's actually happening lols Thats a great comment if you ask me lols He's just having a hard time believing that his life went from being so bad to being so wonderful =) Just keep supporting him and reminding him that you love and your on the road to lasting happiness lols

I try my best to support him and help him make good decisions. i hate it when sometimes he insists that he's going nowhere and i have all this potential and blah, it makes me wanna yell at him because he doesnt see what i see!
obviously i dont yell at him though lol.
