    CLOSED. RESULTS POSTED AT BOTTOM.

    A little while ago I made a contest which had titles from my favourite TV show. Well, I'm doing another one.

    Once again, I'm not going to tell you the name of the show. The first person who manages to guess correctly will get an extra comment once the contest is over.

    [RULES]

    . It doesn't have to rhyme, it's up to you, but I prefer rhyming poems.
    . I don't care how long the length is, just as long as it isn't a sentence, nor a book.
    . DEADLINE: 10 September, so everyone [please] get your poems in on time.
    . Just one person per title.
    . And one poem per person, for now. This might change.

    [TITLES]

    o1. Out of Mind, Out of Sight
    o2. When She Was Bad
    o4. Killed by Death
    o5. Dead Man's Party
    o8. Fear, Itself
    11. New Moon Rising

    [TAKEN]

    o3. Lie to Me
    -- Raveena [DONE]
    o6. Lover's Walk
    -- Krazy [DONE]
    o7. The Harsh Light of Day
    -- Espoir*failed
    o9. Wild at Heart
    -- HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG [DONE]
    10. Where the Wild Things Are
    -- Carrie [DONE]
    12. Out of My Mind

    13. Listening to Fear
    -- XxLaceMyWordsInVodkaxX [DONE]
    14. Blood Ties

    The Weight Of The World.

    Pressing down upon me,
    With all its trials and its burdens.
    Holding me back from my achievements,
    Lessening its hold for no man.

    Placing dreams before me,
    As if they were easy to obtain.
    Keeping me striving day after day,
    Praying my work is not in vain.

    Not caring about its heaviness,
    Forcing me to carry its full weight.
    An image of me at the finish line,
    Glancing back at my mistakes.

    Breaking down from all its obstacles,
    Thrown in my way for distractions.
    This world has no place for misery,
    But it's not always filled with laughter.

    Trying to keep my head above water,
    Because I really don't want to drown.
    There's no emergency team to rescue me,
    When the world is weighing me down.

    Thanks to those who have entered so far.

    Anybody else? I really want all the titles to be taken.

    Where The Wild Things Are

    A forbidden wood,
    Where creatures crawl,
    Beyond your sight,
    Where fear rules all.

    Twist and turn,
    It's getting dark,
    No sense of hope,
    To light a spark.

    No looking back,
    You're on your way,
    Into your mind,
    Where demons prey.

    The darkest corners,
    Sharpest edges,
    Built in time,
    By faulty pledges.

    Broken spirit,
    Velvet tongue,
    All it took,
    When you were young.

    Trip and fall,
    But hear no scream,
    You're slowly choking,
    On your dream.

    Monsters waiting,
    Set to leap,
    You wish you hadn't,
    Gone to sleep.

    Inside your head,
    A dangerous place,
    Constant fear,
    You can't erase.

    The wildest things,
    Hide deep inside,
    In every mind,
    Far and wide.

    "Out Of My Mind" please

  • Beautiful Chaos

    Out Of My Mind

    Drunken nights which call you back,
    As you're fading into dream,
    The smell of youth within the black,
    The laugh inside the scream.

    Floating through a mystic haze,
    Touching what can't be,
    Blinded by the light of day,
    Believing all you see.

    Scrapes and bruises on your soul,
    In time you made it through,
    You didn't always have control,
    Though your words were always true.

    Mother, sister and best friend,
    All roles you're glad to play,
    Trying hard until the end,
    To say all you can say.

    Memories of lessons learned,
    Thoughts of what has passed,
    All the bridges which were burned,
    Shall come both slow and fast.

    Some shall linger in your mind,
    Others lost to time,
    Some you have to search to find,
    Mountains you must climb.

    Wild At Heart [Lyrics]

    [VERSE 1]

    On the long summer nights, we`d meet between his place and mine;
    So scared of getting caught by our Mama`s, but it toughened up my spine;
    And under that old oak, we`d sit and count out the prettiest golden stars;
    Making empty promises together - naming the ones to be forever ours.
    The gravel was wearing thin from running back home at the break of dawn,
    Trying so hard to sneak in, but they were starting to catch on;
    And in the moonlight with his hands in mine, consequence didn`t exist;
    Every single thing faded behind me when he took me in his arms and we kissed,
    And he held me tight like he meant forever, I didn`t want the summer to end;
    But every straight road at one point or another has to bend.

    [CHORUS]

    My Mama told me that I shouldn`t be so damn naive,
    Displaying my heart like I did on top my sleeve,
    But I didn`t know any better, I was too young to care;
    It was the middle of the summer, a few months to spare.
    She forbade me to see him, but I still did late at night;
    Under that old oak in his arms, where it felt so right -
    And he told me when he said he loved me he meant it,
    He`d love me day in and day out, he`d never go and quit.
    Holding me steady, he laughed at my shaking breath;
    As we fell hand in hand, it was either life or death;
    And that Midsummer moon saw every inch of me,
    But there was no other place that I`d rather be -
    Then there with him, ripping myself apart -
    Nothing mattered that summer, we were wild at heart.

    [VERSE 2]

    The summer ended and his Mama tore him away from me,
    But through it all, I`m glad that he wasn`t there to see -
    The angst that I threw around, as I tried to forget;
    The time we swore up and down that we`d never regret.
    And in a heart-shaped box on my floor I saved everything,
    All the pictures and letters and that old promise ring;
    Every now and then, I still go back and stand under that old tree;
    Remembering the few months when nothing mattered but him and me.
    And how bittersweet it is when your fairy tale has to end,
    And your first love has to become just another long lost friend.

    [BRIDGE]

    I grew up and listened, tore my heart off of my sleeve;
    Adopted resistance and threw away naive.

    [CHORUS]

    My Mama told me that I shouldn`t be so damn naive,
    Displaying my heart like I did on top my sleeve,
    But I didn`t know any better, I was too young to care;
    It was the middle of the summer, a few months to spare.
    She forbade me to see him, but I still did late at night;
    Under that old oak in his arms, where it felt so right -
    And he told me when he said he loved me he meant it,
    He`d love me day in and day out, he`d never go and quit.
    Holding me steady, he laughed at my shaking breath;
    As we fell hand in hand, it was either life or death;
    And that Midsummer moon saw every inch of me,
    But there was no other place that I`d rather be -
    Then there with him, ripping myself apart -
    Nothing mattered that summer, we were wild at heart.

    Lovers Walk (The Never Forgotten Red Painted Sky)

    golden sun strikes her brilliant red hair
    waves wash upon her toes
    love shielding her heart from pain

    sand crunches beneath her feet
    seagulls talk from every direction
    a smile builds on her milky face

    a prince next to her stands tall
    the man she calls her own
    meandering hand in hand under the sunlit beach

    together, a perfect couple
    a memory of this day will always be present
    the two joined by the power of love

    for this creation bathed in a painted red sky
    is a perfect backdrop for the perfect couple
    and never to be forgotten

    I didn't reserve, but I did write one for this contest. It is one minute [my time] after the due date. I hope you will accept it.

    Blood Ties
    By: Twisted Heart

    Among the shadows of the night
    Against the shades of faded gray
    Upon the cobbles of the street
    The changeling searched his prey.

    His nose was tipped for virgin scent
    Such wicked dreams he stored inside
    When there upon the corner's bend
    He spied his virgin bride.

    With wings of flames he made his swoop
    And caught her fast and unaware
    He gripped her to his breast and flew
    High in the sky without a care.

    To darkened pitch among the tombs
    He sat her there upon the grave
    He tipped his teeth against her neck
    To taste the crimson wine he craved.

    Just a sip to quench his thirst
    As demons rose from rot's decay
    The sound of hissing laughter heard
    Among the statues made of clay.

    Tuned now to see the kindred breath
    That seared inside his virgin bride
    The change he saw beginning now
    Red lips, dark hair and skin pure white.

    She rose from sleep so different now
    As fire flashed bright inside her eyes
    A beauty love he longed for her
    Though from her breath a demon cry

    With wings of flame she took to flight
    Among the cobbles of the street
    To purge her thirst for crimson wine
    A search to sate her wanton need.
