Some countries believe that males are far mor superior than females... Like smarter and stronger... Therefore they are waited on hand and foot by females... Etc etc etc.. Some countries only believe females to be a sex type of object and thats all.

I have three sisters and the majority of my cousins are girls (and I have MANY of them). My aunt, a mother of two sons has always given them far more attention than needed. She has an intelligent 17 year old daughter, but has always showered a lot more love and affection for the boys. My uncle has a daughter and a son; but acts almost as though the girl doesn't exist. He's either busy cleaning his car, or caring too much about his precious son. Another aunt of mine is a mother of four girls and one boy. No joke, she actually treats her son like a king. The girls are to ask him if he's hungry after every other hour, clean up after him and do him numerous favours. Guess what. He's only 10.

So you ask, why are boys treated better than girls?
    I'll tell you why.

As a Pakistani, I understood the motives of these three parents from an early start. Boys are often given more attention and treated better than girls as much is expected from them when they grow older. Better grades, highly acclaimed jobs and positions of higher ranking in society. Now, I do not mean to degrade Pakistani females in any way, I am one after all - but from my experience and what I have seen, it's become increasingly obvious. Watching Lollywood films had me acknowledge that females are plainly seen as good wives for their husbands and their only place is the kitchen. This view isn't so different to what it was like in the West in the 1950's - but lifestyles like this do continue in the more rural areas of Pakistan. Boys grow in to men who have far more responsibilities than a mere housewife who cooks, cleans and cares for her children. Sad, I know, and I don't agree with it. Some may put my idea of boys being treated better in certain countries as a 'westernised' view. But they'd have to be living in the Pindh if they had something to say about it. So. There.

Honestly, I think it's because people think that if God is a man, then men are superior. Also, Adam was created before Eve, and Eve was created FROM Adam, giving men even more superiority. Stupid, yeah, but people will think what they think.

Adam before Eve... apparently God coulsn't get it right on the first try... ; )

I kid. Men are cool. So are women. If God was a man, wouldn't he leave a bunch of dirty socks around the house? Maybe that's what sulphurous pools are...

Probably because in most countries they believe men can achieve/ do more than women could- though that's totally unreasonable.

It is a Cultural thing Robie. Boys are the seed to carry on their fathers name, generation after generation. I agree with carrying on with the family name but the daughters should be treated equal.
