me and Him are the same way, he's my best budd and he's a pretty nifty guy. his never-ending love is the coolest thing ever and i'm glad to be experiencing it.

"where is God in this picture?"

many people who don't admit that God exists are asking the same usual questions
"if God really exists then why there are poor people? why good people die while bad ones are not? if God really loves his people why make them suffer?"

there are many answers to this but Bob you said you read the Quran, if you really did then you should know the answers to all this. i recommand to read it again

the prove that God exists is this whole world, human, animals and everything about this universe

    How about probability and religion?

    Or physics and religion?

    Any of those match up?

^Hmm, I dunno... my ex-boyfriend-type-person is a physicist (becoming a rather good one) and also one of the more religious people I've met.

P.S. I strongly believe that probability does not exist. Bah! I blame Algebra II, for making me a rebel. I am a probability heathen.

"Because he takes the good and leaves the ****** loser's on this place we call earth. He makes the wrong people suffer."

You took the words right out of my mouth/fingers whatever. My nan suffered excruciating pain for three years due to ovarian cancer, 'he' took the use of her legs, her bladder, and finally her eyesight. And still she lived for months more. And of all my family she was the only one that never said a bad word of anyone, the only devout christian. And do you know what? Up to the day she died she prayed for others other than herself. Where was 'He' in this? You tell me.

^where is God in this picture

That is a very thought provoking question. Many could look at a picture of innocence deprived of nutrition, and conclude that love does not exist

In the words written in red some translations state The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

I think I should feel shame that I have missed opportunities to do for those who are closest to God in their innocence
I can imagine that the photographer that took that picture was not trying to demonstrate the cold principles of the survival of the fittest. I would think that the cause of such a sorrowful sight is the spiritual ignorance of humanity

Brother, a person can go to church and still not have his salvation. anyone can dress up nice and go to a church service. it takes something else to really follow God. that whole "dressing up nice" thing is just a stereo type. God's not interested in your money, or your appearance.
what matters is you come to the realization that God's love and kindness is everlasting and that you get to know him on a personal level. you can do that without going to church.

honestly, I much rather see a homosexual, athiest, satanist, murderer, rapist or any other person you wouldn't see in a church walk in to my church than a fellow Christian any day.

  • the song writer

I wrote a song on how the church these days has become dressed up, like christians are all high-class people and everything is organized and proper. it shouldn't be like it.

    read:
    "Motionless, We Are".

you don't have to, it just might give you a better idea of what I mean.

    Spiritual ignorance of humanity

"^indeed, yet we hail God, with the knowledge that these things exist, we rejoice in his word, but rarely do we apply it to those less fortunate.."...

A reporter once visited Calcutta, India and saw the terrible conditions Mother Teresa was living in to work with and be close to the less fortunate. The reporter said I would not do what you do for a million dollars. Mother Teresa smiled and said she would not do it for a million dollars either, but she would do it for God
I had the pleasure of meeting Vince Ambrosetti, an artist with a passionate love for God, for people and for music named 2001 Catholic Artist of the Year, Ambrosetti's accomplishments are vast,. one of his most memorable moments include singing one of his best loved songs, "Sanctuary" during communion at the funeral of Mother Teresa in Calcutta, India. He spoke of how honored he felt at that time

    :(

honestly, why do you have to persist with taking shots at peoples' faith?
do you see anyone here, anyone at all insulting atheism?
or better yet insulting you for being one?
    no.
    this goes for everyone.
just because someone thinks differently thatn you do doesn't mean you can undermine them because you think they're wrong.

now some people have this concept down, but others don't .

"Where is god in this picture?"

I'm not religious. I don't question whether God is or is not there. I live because I'm alive in the same way you speak because you have a voice or walk because you have legs or feel because you have a heart. I do it without thinking or questioning myself insane. I simply try to do what feels right for my own gratification, not God's.

However, I cannot help but add...

    maybe he's behind the camera.

I think 'God' lives in the hearts of people who are strong enough to go to the places where children are starving and try to help. A 'Godless' world would be one where these children would not have even the insignifanct face of a distant photograph, but a bleak and heartless silence. For those who look is the ability to see. And a world without 'God' would outright blind us.

He cannot help that we are becoming too lazy to care.

  • silvershoes

Well, about that picture. I like the response, "maybe he's behind the camera." Photo Journalism does help send global messages, that's for sure. But I think the photographer was responsible, not God. I'd be impressed if that old man in the big, blue sky could work a camera.

If I were to answer Michael's question from a religious POV, I'd say...in the children's eyes. They do express great hope, don't they?

  • Serina the Squid

Yes, exactly. That's what I meant when I said 'God' lives in the hearts of those who are brave enough to fight for the well-being of people they never knew. I am saying in a way that they ARE 'God'. Without them, these children would have no face.

But, still, what will you do? Does anyone care? Hardly. Sure, you can be touched by a terrible news story, but what do you do? You just eat your dinner and change the channel.

  • silvershoes

I care about humans, very much so, but I think when it comes to strangers...I tend to care about animals a tiny, tiny, touch more. That's why I'm headed towards Veterinary care. I don't understand why people get jobs that help 'the system.' Jobs that help pollution, the government (directly)...ugh. I can't imagine having a cube job.

Work as a Doctor, Nurse, Dentist, Animal Rescuer, Fire Fighter, Adoption Agency worker that helps re-home children...An artist even. Come on! Hah, sorry.

I need to go to bed.

The irony of that picture is that under nourished children have been plentiful in Ethiopia for decades. I recently watched a documentary that implied that the ancient Ark of the Covenant is in Ethiopia Another irony is that what is believed to be the Ark of the Covenant is gaurded by weapons. In this world full of ironies we would be slaves without free will. I do not believe in the arrogance of the so-called white mans burden. Yet it is not human nature to treat all humans equally. I personally believe we should feed the children for God's sake. I also believe God is all good, and do not wish to argue with anyone who believes we should feed the children for goodness sake. I would however like a more detailed explanation on how we can reject the word and blame the word at the same time

  • Kevin

I reject the word of the bible because it causes problems, both social and personal, in my opinion.

I blame the word of the bible, in part because like I just said, it causes problems, or at the very least contributes negatively to existing issues.

We should reject and blame the causes of problems.

I think the bibles effect on social policy is holding back the evolution of mankind. Every time someone has to debate whether gay people should be allowed to marry, the bible is partly to blame for holding back mankinds social and moral evolution. And that is just one current example.

  • Michael D Nalley

I do not agree with evolution if it does not allow for divine mercy. I debated this issue with an extreme evolutionist that stated when groups help unfortunate individuals it interfered with natural selection, and the weaker races should be extinct.

"Come back and tell me that when you are incapable of walking, controlling your bladder, are blind and dependent on Morphine to control the pain. Tell me he loves you then."

    that such a typical answer.

you can't blame God for that. When sin was first introduced via Adam an Eve, pain and suffering was introduced as well, that would include any disease, sickness or condition you can think of. We live in an imperfect world, it's not God's fault that horrible things happen to people, He'd never "give" those type of burdens to people.

If I'd ever come down with a life-ruining condition I wouldn't be question God's love, more like thanking God for loving me enough to keep me alive, then praying for the aid of those less fortunate.

  • the song writer

you can't blame the Bible for causing problems in our society, people interpret it differently, and others look at it differently, from different views. The Bible doesn't cause problems, the people who take it wrongly do.

And you can't use gay marriage as an example for "social and moral evolution", like i said, we live in a diverse world, people think differently.

"But to say that God is your best friend and you love him is ridiculous. That's like saying you love your new computer/stove..something that doesn't exist."

    you can't say that.

according to our beliefs, God's not an inanimate abject, he's an actual (spiritual) being. And he DOES exist.

if God didn't exist, I wouldn't be alive right now.

  • the song writer

And before we get into this, and I know we will, at some point...
