Why is it that pot is so looked down upon? i can understand if it falls into the wrong hands people make dumb choices like drop out and what not but i know plenty of people who have graduated while doing herion and acid. Way worse then pot. plus you cant say any one from ages 13 and up havent done some type of drugs, especially these days

Well i find many things wrong with that absurdly sweeping statement. i know MANY people who are my age (17) and have never done drugs in there life. not to mention the fact that pot ruins your insides and can cause psychosis. your question is just plain stupid. and as for the fact that you know people who have graduated doing herion and acid...i look down upon them. they do not deserve a degree and sooner or later people will realise that and they will only have themselves to blame

It's still addicting and kills brain cells (rapidly.)

if you get a huge amount of any drug in your system it can do some damage.

"plus you cant say any one from ages 13 and up havent done some type of drugs, especially these days"

I know tons of people 13 and up that haven't done any drugs at all. That is a total lie that statement, sure some people do it but not all of us are that stupid

Oh, I thought this thread was about me.

Why is pot looked down upon? Because it's negative qualities and effects far surpass it's positives.

Um, while it is true it greatly decreases cognitive function, I don't think marijuana is any more addicting to the average person than alcohol. My understanding is that cigarettes contain more addictive qualities than marijuana. Now, you can be addicted to it, as you can with alcohol, but I'm not sure if those people are a majority.

I have heard people say the "cigarettes contain more addictive qualies than marijuana" is a myth. Could it just be possible that these are just either 1. misinformed idiots or 2. lazy potheads with addictive personalities? Because I know people who have done marijuana and some who have come off marijuana, and while it takes awhile to get out of your system, the come down is mild (especially compared to that of other drugs, including caffeine) and the recidivist rate is extremely low.

Okay. End rant. Most of the above I agree with, just had to clear up one little thing.

    Sorry for the idiot comment.

^indeed. what worries me the most is the ice epidemic. people who take ice become so completly out of control that now even things such as sedative injections and capsicum spray are no longer working. has anyone living is australia seen the ads on t.v about ice and drugs in general they are really powerful.

"I've never even seen them in real life as far as I know. Call me naive, I like it that way."

I would rather call you wise. I think that all recreational drugs have an abuse potential, and the more you know about addictive behavior the less likely you would want to alter your natural biochemistry.

"Some of my friends who do weed say it's not nearly as addictive as nicotine."

I do not find that hard to believe.

'Some of my friends who do weed say it's not nearly as addictive as nicotine.'

Well, to lay down more of my life story, I used to be a huge pothead Sophomore year of highschool. Never smoked a cigarette, so I don't know about Nicotine, but I will tell you...Pot is not addictive in the slightest. What it does do: It slows you down physically and mentally, it stays in your system for a month after using it one time, it makes you extremely paranoid and large doses can make you hallucinate. It's not nearly as bad as Cigarettes, in an addictive or damaging way, but it's just one more thing that you don't need, and your body would do much better without.
