No White After Labor Day

My friend and I got into a discussion about what “No white after labor day” really entitles. I usually just thought that it meant no white skirts or pants…But she thinks that it includes shirts, white sandals, high heels, and purses as well. Is she also right?? I’m not a fashion connoisseur and I hardly care that much, but I was just wondering if I’ve been wrong all along and it is time to put away my white t-shirts???

Well to answer your question, we were always raised no white until after Easter and not after Labor day, that meaning shoes, pants and purses. I still won't wear it after Labor Day but one of our "fashion queens" here at work whom is adamant about all the other fashion faux pas like black and brown together, stripes with patterns, wearing different materials etc. says it's okay to wear white after labor day. This shocked the mess outta me because she is the first one to say something about what you are wearing.

Just wear what ya want to and set your own statement. I believe the tradition has been outgrown as a fad.

Being raised in the south I think it has more to do with southern etiquette. Miss Manners thought she would do us a favor by creating this. Mo check this link out.....

Both my parents were raised in the south to so my parents also let us know growing up when it was time to put away our white shoes. Thanks for the information and helpful website!!!

And who makes those rules, and what is fashion predominately made of...

Men...Gay Men...But Men none the less...That control that so called fashion rules you hold so dear...

    Ironic...Isn't it....

I don't have to worry about anything. :)
I wear only black. Hell yea.
But who the hell cares what colour you wear anyways? If you want to wear blue then wear it. Pink? Go ahead. Orange? More power to you. Red? Cool, go for it. Just wear something... or nothing. I'm a guy. I cannot complain about nudity. :) I'm completly for any law banning clothing. Lmao. God, I'm a horny bastard at times.

Ok I just read through that and the only reason it could give me to say why to wear no white after LD... is that its winter and it reflects heat and keeps you warmer? WTF? Seriously - what a crock pot of shite.
