I live on the mississippi river, and there is a huge bridge that spans the length of it, the guard rails are approximately 4 feet tall, i walked 1/2 way across, i leaned against the edge staring down at the murky, digusting water flowing below, and then decided to sit down and watch it flow by, during the approximate 2 hours i spent there at least 20 walkers/joggers pasted by me, and not one solitary soul bothered to ask me if i as ok, much less even look at me, the question i have i guess, is, what is happening to humanity today?, doesn't any one give a damn about anyones well being anymore? |

Bob's right. also many people are often scared to ask if someone is ok. with the media constantly spreading propaganda people are too easily influenced that the world is full of evil people that will hurt you. they might also be scared of the answer or what to do if the answer given is something that are not familar with. using the example bob gave of opening a door up for a woman used to be seen as the gentlemanly thing to do. now there are so many opinions on it. some women find it offensive (most likely feminists) and thus many people don't know how to react in situations anymore. |

It's true that there are a lot of uncaring individuals in today's society, but there are also some redeeming ones. |

Were you standing on top of the bridge, poised to jump? because if you were just sitting there, people probably were thinking "oh crazy kid/person just standing there's, gonna get themselves killed" or they wanted to leave you alone. |
