Yah im confused can u name sum emo songs or music bc i dont know where emo songs r exactly...
or just explain how u know if its "emo"
and what would u consider my chemical romance?

actually if u would.. please explain (other then country, classical,screamo and metal) the ways u catagorize music (hip-hip punk ect.)

Ehhh I hate that stereo type. It just means emotional. I think people consider the band Fallout Boy emo. I don't usually classify music but I'm sure that it's been called emo before.

I think emo music is usually like punk... but with extremely emotional lyrics...
i might not be totally sure... but thats how -I- classify it...

I suggest you look up on google "Country," "Classical," and "Metal" music.

Emo music is a bit harder to discribe, because I've never noticed that there is an "emo" genre. But, never the less, I am sure if you look that up you will find some examples of "emo" bands or music.

No, My Chemical Romance is rock. Progressive, alt, if you will.

I believe Fall Out Boy is the new pop/punk/dance?. I tend to just classify it as "sh*t", but whatyouwill.

I categorize anything with a guitar as rock so I'm pretty bad with this stuff. Sure there are acceptations but rock is the root to all. Rock is your fist and the fingers are all that have branched off from it. That's how my dad explains it at least.

Emo started in DC in the late 80s, early 90s. The stuff that's "emo" now is way different than the stuff from back then which was a lot more punk. Now it really edges towards pop-like thinks. Basically, it's up for interpretation.

HIM and Evanescence? I'd say they're more along the lines of Goth rock, not emo...
If you want emo, try Hawthorne Heights, The Audition, Home Grown, and maybe Taking Back Sunday. There are a ton of really good emo bands out there, it's sorta of like punk but with a sensitive edge to it.

I dont see the different btween emo and goth rock and I dont see the point in catorgorising emo,punk rock and goth rock there all preety much the same

Meh the only catagorie i put music in is good music and the music i would rather burn then listen to ^__^

some people would probly descibe emo music as depressive but then there are alot of songs out there, that are depressive but you wouldnt class as emo.... i would just stick with the music catagories already know such as rock,rap... so on and so on i could go on for a while lol!!

But generally, it's anything with overly expressive lyrics about one's feelings. It doesn't have to be rock, even though most emo stuff is.

No no no. Emo music involves the emotions of going through a dark time in ones life. That other stuff is just a metaphor for the pain there experienceing. Ex. Him. My chemical romance, 30 seconds to mars, from frist to last, death cab for cutie, fall out boy, evanescence, ect.

I don't think it matters what music is, just because you like a song doesn't mean you fit into a certain group..
that's just lame.

I'd classify Evanescence as Emo even though it's not their musical listing but their lyrics are extremely emotional.
