Giving Hope

Inspired by the sunshine,
A heart I'll find to warm,
A desolate soul in need of help,
To weather out this storm,

I'll give my love so they may see,
The world has not turned cold,
I'll use my arms to hold them tight,
Their pain wont be untold,

I will not judge the things I hear,
Or the destruction I do see,
I'll do my best to make it known,
They are important to me,

I'll tell them of the single soul,
That dwells within us all,
Each being is connected,
Though some ignore the call,

I'll let them see the love I felt,
I'll let them touch my pain,
I'll tell them just how bad I'd feel,
To never feel again,

Bumps and bruises come in life,
Sometimes our spirits shatter,
But it is the trials in our time,
That teach us what does matter.

She Will Be Loved

No more will I deal with this heart ache -
It's time for one of us to have a heart break.
I'm so done with being just second best to you;
That's it, it's over; we are through.

No more tears will I ever shed -
No more countless hours laying awake on my bed.
I can't do this anymore, it's not worth my time;
I want someone better for me to call mine.

Lies are usless for I have heard them all -
You've hit rock bottom, where else is there to fall?
You can pick up the pieces with someone new;
Someone who may just be better for you.

You're just not the boy I thought you could be -
It took me too long, but now I finally see:
I need so much more than you could ever give -
This is not the life I really want to live.

But I will not settle for less anymore -
I don't want to just be some chore.

Pen's scratch on scroll, is all that's heard

HAVE YOU EVER...

Have you ever loved someone so much
You’d give an arm for?
And if one arm wasn’t enough
Would you gladly sacrifice one more?

Have you ever missed someone so intensely
That you’d walk a thousand miles to reach her?
And known that she would probably
Just look at you and not come near?

Have you ever heard the telephone tremble
And prayed to god that it’s her call
Only to hear someone else mumble
And then wished that you could end it all?

Have you ever spent sleepless nights
Staring at the pitch black sky?
And known that she must be sleeping tight
With eyes unlike yours, sealed and dry?

Have you ever apologized and prayed
In spite of knowing that you were right?
Just to make matters okay
And watched them get worse, before your sight?

If you have, you’d want to die
So did I, but I soon realized
That beyond these ominous clouds does lie
The dazzling sun and hope and life

Think beyond and you will know
That joy feels good only after the pain
How can you ever relish a rainbow
Without passing through the rain?

So stop wearing cuts on your sleeve
And flaunt a smile upon your face
All you need to do is believe
And you’ll soon be in Hope’s warm embrace

If you can live through the roughest days
This game of life will indeed be won
And Sir Kipling’s spirit shall rise and say
“What’s more, you’re a MAN my son!”
