    Snow
    Gently falling drops

    Palindrome - Also Known as Mirrored Poetry. A palindrome, by definition, is a word, phrase, verse, sentence, or even poem that reads the same forward or backward. The carefully placed words form the same sentence, whether it is read forward or backward. For example, 'Mirrored images reflect images mirrored' which includes a word in the centre as a reversal point for the sentence or even the poem.

    Time Stands Still {Glosa-Verse}

    This is a poem based off the song "Seeman," by Rammstein. The quatrain is from that song. It's part of the style.
    --------------------------------------------------------

    So merciless is only the night
    In the end I'm left alone
    The time stands still
    And I am cold
    ````````````````````````
    The autumn wind wipes tears off your face;
    Elder women rush to beckon you home.
    You are lost amongst the darkness;
    Who will be there to hold you
    When wind whisks you away?
    Shiver in this comfort of fright;
    Something finally holds you close!
    Hold on to what your memory last saw;
    You no longer need them for their light;
    "So merciless is the only night."
    "Come a little closer," the wind beckons you,
    As you grasp onto what thoughts remains.
    You're so frightened or quick to forget
    They're waiting for you just down the river.
    "Come a little closer, my little one," it still beckons,
    It reaches your soul; you quiver at bone,
    Invisible hands reach around your soul,
    Caressing it with hopes of being remembered;
    The winds stop; suddenly your wishes are known;
    "In the end I'm left alone."
    The autumn wind wipes tears off your face
    As the elderly women beckon you for home.
    There's no where left on these cold streets
    Or anywhere else you can call your family.
    The moon arises with the stars flanking;
    It's God's army you see lighting darkness, and you stand still.
    Scamper upon the railing, climbing high;
    No one's going to bother coming by,
    Wrap your coat closer to you and remember that chill;
    "The time stands still..."
    You wait for hope and hold your breath,
    At the forgotten memories you left behind.
    The chill sets in as you release your eyes from the Heavens;
    Not even He could save you now.
    The autumn wind wipes your tears from your face,
    As the lantern light swings on your face as you were told;
    "There's death in this place."
    The women beckon you inside, but no one saves you;
    As you rock off the ledge you sing loud and bold,
    "...And I am cold."
    -------------------------------------------------------------
    Glosa-Verse
    A Spanish form invented by court poets in the 14th and 15th centuries. An opening quatrain, called a 'cabeza' is chosen from another poet, or song. The glosa elaborates or 'glosses' on the quatrain with four ten line stanzas, their concluding lines taken consecutively from the quatrain and their sixth and ninth lines rhyming with the borrowed tenth. Example is as follows....
    Winter Crossing
    By: Twisted Heart
    A touch of frost has hit my soul
    Has chilled my bones
    Has left me cold
    Inside my heart a winter's flow
    Ice pitch darkness
    Awaits the snow
    A vacant stare from teardrop eyes
    Comes quick to shed
    Forced alibis
    As shadows creep and squat inside
    My thoughts are left
    No place to hide.
    The heart now rises up to breathe
    To reach for dreams
    and sanity
    A summer faith is there, you see
    But without hope
    It just can't be.
    The Winter Crossing seems so slow
    Beneath the blankets of the snow.
    Midwintertears
    By My Decadent
    It was a cold winter, so cold even snowflakes shivered...
    .
    ..
    ...
    Laying frozen on the cold ground,
    Killed by the sorrow so profound
    I never knew that I could bring -
    I knew her tears and did nothing.
    Feeble and frail, feeling so lost,
    Used to laugh, now choking with frost;
    But her heart shall nevermore sing -
    I knew her tears and did nothing.
    Ignorant of her existence,
    I've let her fall in decadence,
    But now her eyes will never sting -
    I knew her tears and did nothing.
    First time I've committed a sin;
    I've carelessly pushed her within
    The embrace of Death's single wing -
    I knew her tears and did nothing.
    ...
    ..
    .
    It was cold, so cold my heart had froze along with hers...
    Pearls
    Sparkles of a melody in my mind
    a chilling song of grief
    it tempts me with its unearthly waves
    softly falling onto leaf
    A memory of hope once found
    thrust into the snow
    you can only hope that where it fell
    another life can grow
    Blind in the cold curse of white
    a beggar slowly stumbling
    the gorgeous sunlight piercing eyes
    alone in dust she's mumbling
    The rain falling like crystal shards
    iridescent with their rainbows
    so beautiful the frosty air
    blood covered by the snows
    Sleeping in frozen grave
    no longer breath, just ice
    staring at the shining pearls
    a mocking end to life
    Can I Reserve? (Dunno what that means :S)
    Anywoo, if I am reserved...
    December Dreams
    In this lonely winter
    The leaves have long been dropped,
    Swept away by the winds,
    Forgotten by your heart.
    Forgotten how the leaves lit you,
    Forgotten how the leaves would shield
    The winds that whip you.
    The life in the green, no longer seen.
    The love that was, now is
    Only a December Dream.
    Cold Snap
    The sun melted my skin,
    My heart fluttered everyday,
    Upon sight you are contagious,
    And love had found its way,
    But something was so cold,
    And winter touched my heart,
    Like the fingers upon water,
    Like it was about to fall apart,
    The rain didn't warm me,
    As it fell hard and cold,
    Hiding all I am today,
    As life now unfolds,
    Icicles shatter from my eyes,
    And I gasp in despair,
    A sudden realisation,
    I wish I didn't care,
    The pain I had found,
    I fear when it turns,
    The home I had warmed,
    Suddenly it burns,
    Forgotten I am scared,
    Erased from your minds,
    It's too late to undo,
    What sadness always finds,
    Rain shall fall,
    Upon me alone,
    Goodbye to you all,
    Reborn to stone.
    Smile Empty Soul
    Footsteps trace the winding path left behind,
    As he searches for something he`ll never find,
    With his cheeks wind burnt and red, he treks on;
    To find a broken heart now forever gone.
    His eyes are stripped bare of their bright colors,
    And with each step his breath is getting duller --
    A soul is etched into the bark of an old willow,
    All the words that he screams into his pillow:
    "Forever and ever, Baby; down to the last breath --
    You`ll either take me in life, or leave me in death;"
    Her ways got a hold of him, grasped him by the heart --
    Tore him down to insanity and cracked him apart.
    An old park bench full of long lost lovers tales,
    Sits by a frozen pond as the powdery snow veils,
    The sandy bank from three long years ago:
    She said she loved him, that he needed to know.
    With a bottle of peach wine, they lost track of time;
    He slurred out pretty lines to heighten his sublime,
    She saw the world when she looked into his eyes,
    But her tongue was coated down with pitiful lies.
    They rode the empty "I love you`s" for a month or two,
    Contaminating the phone lines, seeing each other through;
    And he always knew that her naivety would take her there,
    But he never paid close enough attention to truly care.
    A drunken message on an answering machine,
    That`s the last of that girl he ever seen,
    But sometimes, when the night is dark and cold;
    He`ll walk along this path, remembering what he was told:
    "Sometimes, promises are broken by those you trust;
    And often, love isn`t really love at all, it`s merely lust;
    You`ll find out the hard way that sometimes good-bye`s --
    They really are forever, nothing but fantasy coated in lies."
