What DO you mean by talent?
Does it always develop over time?
Can you nurture it, or does it have to be innate?
Can you ever lose talent? If you didn't write for a couple of years?
    How subjective is talent?

I think it is innate. It must be nurtured, otherwise the ability falls by the wayside. We're not talking about "genius" - That falls outside the scope of normal development and ability. One probably has the right...brain configuration, physical abilities, let's say - to be a concert pianist. Just like an athlete, you might do all the training you possibly can, and still not have true "talent." You may be able to play an instrument, but it doesn't mean you have the brilliance, or the soul of an artist. Then you're just a Salieri, wishing you could be a Mozart

Don`t you think you can be born with a talent for a certain thing like poetry or art but then you cultivate that talent and learn to improve on it, Like myself I could draw well enough to be considered somewhat talented but improved that talent by taking art classes and perfecting the skills involved.I think lots of people have talent, not a Vincent VanGogh perhaps but still talented.
