Although a suitable place, also the wrong place. This thread belongs in the Looking For A Poem part of the board.

The best poem, I think, will come from your heart. It means the most that way.

I am sorry for your loss, hope it gets better.

I wrote a post on the other forum. I lost a friend last year at the age of 25 to a heart attack. My prayers go out to you. A poem would be hard because I couldn't even muster up the nerve to say anything during the funeral but I did find a song to play and you could do that or just read the lyrics. It is about losing someone special at a young age. The song is Kenny Chesney's "Who You'd Be Today". It is a great song for this type of thing. I feel that in my heart this will help if you will take the advice. God Bless.

Unfortunately there isn't a too young to die.....death comes whether young or old, sick or heathly. Death doesn't care who or what we are...it just simply is.

I have lost two friends in the same year, one 17 years and the other 16.one accidental, the other was his choice.i've been angry at God for taking a life, and angry for not saving a life.
but through all those differences, death is death.its very hard to move on,and the words don't come easily.i too suggest just speaking how you feel,i'm sure it will be beautiful.some of my favorite poems were written a few days after his death, after i calmed down a bit.its a hard thing to undergo, but don't worry the words will come and it will be just how its suppose to be.
no matter what you say, your friend is watching over you & he knows you still love him.i'm sure he'd even be proud you have the bravery to speak, its a hard thing to do at funerals.
let me know if you wanna talk...

I'm sure your friend would want a poem that came from your heart, as one of TPAM said.... Only you know how to express what you feel for your friend. Just go to a quiet place to think and something magnificant will come to you. :]

And don't be afraid. Your friend will always be watching over your shoulder with a smile on his face, because you're the one who made his life worth while.

Im sorry to hear that. But you should be creating your own poem for him because he needs your true feeling on his funeral.

I dont't mean to sound... i don't know the word...but i think you'll get it, i don't think anyone on here should write a poem about your friend, they haven't shared the love and experiences that you and your friend had, my advice is just to buckle down, dig deep, and let it come, let it flow, remember the good things, cry your words onto the paper.
