Your views on toy soldiers

In my club's discussion board we have an argument on whether people are for or against war toys and i figured this would be the best topic on the others board, considering we've had some garbage debates recently.

personally i don't see how little green army men can inspire a kid to declare war on a school or something like that but what are your thoughts

do you shelter your kids for as long as you can with mr rogers and barney? or do you let them play with their little toy soldiers?

For me my answer is plain, simple and straight forward .. HELL NO!!!
When i was a lad (ok i sound like my grandad (R.i.P)) we loved playing with our soldiers! We went out onto the field and not only did we play with our toy soldiers, but we also played as if we were soldiers!
Now (in my personal opinion) i think thats one of the problems with kids today, they needn't go out and play - they have better toy soldiers on their video games than i ever had.

Get out and play with your soldiers boys!

    Phew rant over!

Let kids play with whatever they want to play with, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone than it's all gravy.

I've said it once, I've said it a million and a half times.

Kids playing 'soldier' or video games aren't anymore violent than the guy playing (American) football.

T.v. is a problem though with all of those 'drama' and 'reality' shows that teach kids that in real life people cheat on each other. Seeing that and their parents divorcing (as many do) gives them only bad relationships to pattern their own romance lives' on.
