Is this a good idea?

Okay, so my friend had to move away from her hometown (not to mention her friends) because of problems in the family... and i asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she said "i just wanna come home" .... so my mind went work and i plan on getting a bunch of her friends together and having each of them pick one thing that they think would remind her of home and write a letter explaining it. i am giving a piece of my driveway because her and i would spend endless hours just sitting there talking to eachother... is this a good idea? or will it just make things worse for her?

She kinda left on a hard note and takes everything to heart now... so i really hope she likes this!!! and if she cries.. i hope its a good cry... thanks guys!! i thought this was really a cool idea.. so i really hope it works
