For thoughs who dont know what OCD is its obsessive compulsive disorder... well i was just wondering if any one had it or had a friend with it, and how they deal with it...

I feel i have OCD i cant get to sleep with out washing my hand several times.... its so annoying but i just cant help it... i also have a coff which is on and off but i honestly think ill die if i dont do it... which sounds odd but its some thing i havent been able to over come for nearly 5 years now... the only way iv found of beating it, is by fighting with my self to change.

I always have a need to be in contact with someone, whether it's on the internet, in real life, or listening to music. I'm not sure it's an OCD though...

Apparently the term OCD is often miss used. There is OC, and OCD. The latter usually coincides with 'voices' and other psychotic like symptoms which is usualy what drives the person to commit the act over and over and over again. Not all people who have OCD show obvious signs to other people. Some people have what i like to call OCD of the mind. That is where all their obessions and compulsions are carried out through thought or 'sly' actions. Such as counting and planning etc etc. Anyway i suppose most people would say, a means to stop intrusive thoughts is to distract yourself.

My ex has OCD...he use to have to be with me at ALL times. It got out of control when I broke up with him. He would watch what time my light went off when I got ready to go to sleep, and he'd freak out and do weird things repeatidly if I left him alone...it kinda scared me, I thought he'd might kill me, so I had to get away fromt that!

I think I have OCD mildly. Things HAVE to be a certain way, and I have to wash my hands and wash a lot! If something isn't done my way, which to me is the right way, it drives me SO crazy!

I know there are many forms of OCD my pen pal suffered from it and finally got theropy... I half feel mine started off from stress of having to move from primary to secondary. I normally can control my coffing expecially around less stressful times of the year which made me think it was stress related but i also do it when im not stressed.... When i first got the coff, the doctors couldnt tell if it was some thing els or just a habbit with out tests but i hated needles and still kind of do ( very scared of any sharp object even sharp pencil.... o.O) so mum left it.

one of you said people here voices some times telling them to do things... or along thoughs lines.... This may not exacly be the same thing but i some times i talk to my self and argue with people in my head... its how i used to sleep at night when i was little when i was scared i used to have some thing there telling me things were alright ... kind of weird i know.

First off OCD is not 'cool' and what the person two things above me described is more of a obsessional trait rather then a categorized disorder.

Person three things above me. yes i know what you mean when you describe the talking/argueing in your head, many people experience it. it is not wierd at all.

I have OCD. Wow I'm posting this answer super late. Sorry guys I was gone ALL day. Anywayyyysss....Ya...I've had OCD since I was a child. I never knew it until a few years ago when I found out by myself. Once I started learning about it everything made sense. No wonder I was such a messed up little girl. :P
