Okay i was talking to this guy who told me bipolar syndrome, opression defecit disorder, and all the such are diseases and are uncurable. so basically he was going to be bad no matter what, no solving it

well i talked to another person about all this and he gave me these words of advice that may help anyone who likes like the first person

if you stick a man with manic depression, ODD, or bipolar disorder on a beech he will not die by not having his medicine and all that

but if you stick someone with cancer on the same desert island alone he WILL die

    which is the disease

Actually he might... the brain deprived of certain chemicals for to long might cause damage and even death. That and he might kill himself.

I never knew of any disease that takes control of a person's limbs and make he or she commit suicide.

in the end it is all up to the person, who rules you? do you rule or does the "disease" rule?

"I never knew of any disease that takes control of a person's limbs and make he or she commit suicide."

Controlling the limbs is a secondary thought, it is what has control of the mind that matters and Bipolar and other such disorders can have extreme effects, morally we may not always agree with the outcome, but it happens. It is easy to say, you control or you make the choices, but that is not 100% true, how are you 100% in control if you don't have 100% control over your own mind?

As far as TRUE bipolar people go, new facts suggest that without medication, that 20% of patients who don't take their meds are more likely to commit suicide...and you can look that up....

A doctor could tell you that you're a little gimp but does that make it true?

besides it's been proven that the more doses you take of medications, medicine, etc etc the more your body builds immunities to it.

    Simple answer is :
You are callin bipolar, ODD etc. a disease, when in fact they are personality disorders.
Where as cancer is a disease.

That's what i have been saying all along. notice i surrounded the word disease by quotations to show that

Certain types of bipolar are incurable, and some people may have to stay on meds for the rest of their lives to moderate their mood swings....
i am not trying to be confrontational,
but please do a little more research before
    stating an opinion as fact...
    again..no disrepect intended...

Mental disorders are not diseases and most can be cured, or at least they can become less maladaptive while the person is medicated. Things like personality disorders cannot be cured, but there are treatments for bipolar disorder, depression, and some other disorders like OCD and PTSD.
