Okay you want my obvious opinion since you shot me between the eyes with those comments?

i think your choices are not suited for such an undertaking, no offense to them but they hardly repressent everyone on this site. and besides most of them are not serious or responsible enough to take such a thing on

  • silvershoes

Atticus, maybe you are right. Your opinions are just as important as mine. Let's see what other people have to think. Okay, I really need to eat. Bye again!

Britt, that was a general thought...although you did spark it. It's good to have mods who care.

Gah! This thread better be back on topic when I get back.

It's okay britt you still have me

have a good eat your highness (sounds better than queenie)

but on a serious note, i promise i will try and conduct myself rightly and not get too......overexcited, man i love it too

alright, let's review the lists again, man who would i nominate?

personally i think both bob and kevin had some good ideas but the problem is they can't agree on much

Now I've tried to read into all this as much as I can, but I may not be completely clued in. It would appear that decisions are going to be made one way or the other. If it was solely my decision (thanksfully it's not) I would let the mods do what they are here to do. Moderate the site.

Seeing as this doesnt appease everyone, and understandably so. Do it the way that any decisions affecting large numbers should be done. Decide what needs to be on an agenda first. It seems like the main groups concerned are .. Mods. Clubs. Website users.

Split up the topics that are to be considered and create groups to discuss each topic separately. Consisting of one/two out of each group. i.e 1 mod rep, 1 club rep, 1 website user rep per topic

If I have got my wires crossed and am way off base I will indeed "shut up".

    2 cents placed.

Pete, that was a good idea, God save the queen, just kidding on the queen part, i mean i hope she's alright, just kidding on the mock...part, ah oh well

maybe if we split up all the problems among the principle sections. if there is a club problem have the club committee (whoever they are) fix it, and the same with moderator and website user problems

just spit balling, not sure if i'm much help

How exciting, this thread has grown by leaps and bounds since my exit from the last post I made. All the brilliant minds at work, while I prepare my dinner meal for the evening to come.

One thing that I see that should be changed on this site is the problems with the new groups, so this way Mr. Atticus can focus his attention on his World Poetry Domination, and claim is rightful place as manager "Focus on your priorities young soldier", that would allow some space from all the complaining posts I have read to date. Again, I say, this talking back and fourth is getting people no where.

Sherry Lynn, my apologies. My "crayon thread" was just an example of the numerous bored threads I have come across in the past few days. Those threads along with this one simply go hand in hand. Oh the trouble that is caused when one simply can not handle rules from a FREE poetry site. The scandal is quite humorous, and yet is just gibberish in the long run.
again, thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts, and now I must attend to the food baking in the oven, Oh smell the poetic beauty in the aromas I am preparing.

He is giving a good list indeed. But my suggestions were based on activity and knowledge of the site boards. And as far as +18 group, not sure if that was for me. This entire idea of splitting people up will only cause more problems. and, you're welcome sherry.

  • Sherry Lynn

But... but... I want the crayon thread so I can go play... waaaaaaaa......

I want to be grown up... get me the crayon thread now please.....

    WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.......

Ok, now really, with the groups and stuff... well, with most of the things you all are complaing about.. it would take Janis to come in and make some **code** changes on the site.

We simply cannot do that nor can we commit Janis to such things.

I know I would be upset if my children committed me to do something without even discussing it for me, and I will not do that to another person.

I got here way late in this conversation, but being here for as long as I have, I think Natalie84, LuAnne and Sibylene would be great choices, just my opinion, everyone has one. Oh and Sherry Lynn for advocate, she is my hero!!!!

You know, I really like what Illuminatix is sayig as far as what we shouldl be posting.

Can we challenge each other to start making such post instead of bickering back and forth about every tiny squabble we see fit on a whim?

Illuminatix... maybe we could start with you posting some good things (poems, poets, ect...) for us.

It would be much appreciated and beneficial at this time.

    Thanks

If you want you can even PM them to me so I know where they are and I could join in on the fun.

Oh, dear. I leave for 12 hours and this thing explodes - and now I'm typing on the technological equivalent of strawberry jam. Sticky keyboard. Sticky sticky.

I'm interested in seeing where this idea is going. Do you all think a sort of panel discussion is a real possibility? And if so, what sorts of ideas would be discussed? Hopefully leaving aside all personal bickering, would we be talking about topics related to these recent threads, or would it be a more general discussion on how to further improve the site?

And by "we" I mean whoever ends up doing it. I too would recommend abby and JHarrison, if they express interest. They're both intelligent, eloquent, and seem to have that elusive ability to keep a level head. I'm sure there are others on this site, but these are two that I actually come into contact with, who have caught my attention.

Chicken soup, Illumi! And soda crackers. Works wonders both physiological and psychological, I'm convinced.

From a long time ago when I was a Mod and things weren't very good in here...seems relevant.

  • Sherry Lynn

Actually, Kevin, I remember that thread very well.

I still stand by what I said then... Mod's have to use their best judgement.

Having another mod second a penalty or deletion of a thread would consume way too much time and create more problems then it would solve.

In your opinion, when something is in the grey area for a penalty point, how many mods must agree for it to be penalized?

Take into consideration that the member is not new and has been warned previously.

Ah Sherry. I did say I wasn't going to post in this anymore, because I seem to attract arguments to me which detract from the goals of the threads.

However I posted that link as an example of how well people can come together, and though not in agreement in terms of opinions, can listen to each other and be respectful. Also to show, if I'm being honest, that I have always been very open and interested in this topic, even as a MOd, because many people have questioned my recent passion for the rules as being suspect.

If we can agree upon a system of how to actually apply the rules, with particular regard to edits, deletions and penalty points then that would be a good thing. I do not mean for a second there shouldn't be rules, there must be a rule about being respectful, but it's how the Mods deal with people they view aren't that is important. There must be a system to it, a fair system that is followed in every case, rascism and blatant name calling aside.

I will say not more unless someone actually asks me a question.

    Cheers.

Awnya you just won yourself a seat at the head table my friend.

i'm starting to see this thread take motion, while it's moving we have to keep it going, we muust gather more speed and momentum or else it will stop again

woohoo i'm 20 years old today

This has become a joke. Mods: 2, Members: 0

Mods, I'm going to ask flat out: Can none of us in THE CLUB become moderators or anything slightly empowering, no matter how qualified we may be, because we privately associate, as friends, with Kevin--who is probably controlling our thoughts this very second? He has mind powers, right? Ha! I can't imagine how anyone could be more qualified than Sibyllene, for instance, but she isn't getting ANY recognition. Within a few days, the two people who are sucking up to you, who are repping mods as holy wonders, are two of the new mods.

  • silvershoes

Oh, and Illumi, in response to you SOMEWHERE, I forget where...You asked how often I write poetry. I write about 5+ poems a day, but I haven't been submitting them on this account...so to speak :-\ Don't question my writing interest. Ever.

Britt, thank you a lot for responding, and explaining a little bit of what makes members acceptable as mods. What's wrong with having a 19 year old mod again? I'm sorry, I suppose I'm being stupid...A number is more important than maturity? How intriguing. So then, what about JHarrison? abby? The Mo? I mean, it's seriously as if anyone who associates with Kevin is automatically ruled out...or maybe anyone who associates with me? I'm not understanding something.

She's excused, but conspiracies are too prevalent right now. Too bad I'm too well known for my jazz to suck up to the mods and be one. My life's dream :(

Sherry, what did I say that was wrong in my last post? I was being careful. Please explain, I lost the email account where warnings can be sent to. Illumati asks when I've written something poetry related, and I ask him essentially the same thing back...but my post gets deleted...for what? This is getting really bad, mods. We used to all be buddies, and now I'm being treated unfairly. Jeez.

Thanks Nightmare, you're my buddy. I'm leaving before anything more ridiculous happens. By the way, does anyone know of other poetry websites I can join?

I'm shocked right now, did I seriously just get points? How the heck do I get rid of them? SHERRY!

  • Sherry Lynn

You did not get points dear Jane, only a warning.

Disrespect to ANYONE will not be tolerated.

I will be hapy to take this up in a PM with you later on tonight, but for now I am off to church.

    Have a blessed time everyone.

  • silvershoes

Disrespect to anyone will not be tolerated. Tell that to Bob's pimple poets. Thanks for the no points, but I still don't understand why any part of what I said was deleted.

Too lazy to PM ya. Have fun at church.

Look everyone, tomorrow i will get up at five or six in the moring my time, i will run a bus taking inter city kids to church, after morning church and we drop the kids off i'll be working at the nursing home.

tomorrow my day wll be filled, i'll be lucky to get an hour to myself. but i chose it and i'm sure you each have something very important and dear to your hearts. something that makes you happy to be a part of.

whatever we do we must do the right thing and never betray ourselves by going the easy way out. if i am not in any way elected to this group which is most likely, i understand.

maybe we can't change the P&Q world as a whole but we can change our worlds, my own world, your own world.

don't know if i'm of any help, this whole thing has constantly been on my mind on this birthday of mine

Nightmare....you know, I stopped posting in this thread because I was ruining it's purpose by arguing tit for tat with the Mods.

Lets stay focussed on the ideas and not he said she said eh...otherwise good threads get filled up with nonsense and then get locked and nothing is achieved.

You have lots of energy and we can use that....just spend it wisely...and I'm saying this knowing that I causes alot of the arguments, well I think I contributed.

  • Independence Forever

Way to be humble kevin......just kidding, have you lost weight?

but seriously, it is not for you to say whether you contributed positively, it is for others to say

i'm sort of new at this whole "be nice" thing *cringe* but i'm trying

but anyway, what i'm trying to say is, if you all want the vote thread thing then go ahead, i'll keep my peace
