Question about search forums

I know we're supposed to use the search function to find threads relating to certain topics but what if you read an old thread and you want to add something thats not in there? I ask this because if someone starts a new thread, its locked because the topic already exists but if someone brings it back because its old its locked still! maybe I just don't get it lol.

Well, yeah.. if it's three years old... and the original post is, "I'm pregnant, what do I name my baby??", or "What should I give him for his birthday?" or "I need a poem for class next week, what should I write about" then no one should be answering those threads.

Just read the first post carefully, if it's about something that person is going through and the original post is from 6 months ago or more, then maybe PM that person and ask if they still need help... but don't answer the thread.

Hopefully, we will soon be rid of all old posts.
