Are you naturally talented at Writing Poetry?

NO...i would say I'm not naturally talented in writting poem...gosh im not EVEN talented in writing poems...i just do it cause I love it and it helps me to express my emotions instead of keeping them all bottled up...I think what helps to motvate me is my mom...she is GREAT and she helps me out a lot...someday I wish to be as good as her!!!

I like to think i am since i satred a t a young age. i love to write and sometime i write so much that i can't think of anything else to write, but when i do it's amazing. Shanik

Not to toot my own horn, haha, but yes I do believe I am naturally talented. Ever since I was young & when I first began to write poetry I never had any knowledge of the structures, techniques, etc. of a poem. Whatever inspired me I simply just began to write down. Writing just has been a part of my whole & a fascination. As I got older, with practice, I got better & better. I also began to do my own research, I still do here & there presently, to admire other different structures, techniques & the like of other poets. :)

I only write because I want to let my negative feelings out, so it comes naturally when I feel bad.

When I feel good, it comes naturally too, but then I need an hour to finish a poem which would only take me like half an hour when I feel bad.

To me poetry is just something everyone does at least once in their life. Even if they're unaware they're doing it, you don't have to put pen to paper, or type it either its just you're thoughts coherent or otherwise.

Poetry is a way we can say things through elaborate metaphors and similes and so on and so forth.

one thing i find i can't type a poem, i have to hand write it haha anyone had that?

Writing is easy for me but for this past year its been sooo hard to write things and its bugging the hell out of me argh

I suppose I'm naturally gifted. people tell me that, anyway, and even though sometimes I don't know why they say it, I'm smart enough to not question it. :)

I wouldn't say I'm naturally gifted, then again, I think pretty lowly of myself and my work, and yeah, I've had plenty of dry spells. Currently going through one actually. Sometimes I'll have periods where I'm cranking out 2 or 3 poems a day for a week at a time, and then sometimes I'll go up to a month without a single one. It just depends on whats going on in my life.

I hate writers block currently dealing with that at the moment probably for sevral reasons. but when i do write it just comes out.. sometimes i wonder if theres something else to it. a muse perhaps?

People tell me I am, but seriously, I know I need to improve. I can say I have a natural talent for creation, but creative writing is only one factor of that, a factor that needs much work.

I believe that I am naturally talented. I think I am because I like to write whenever or wherever and most of my poems are good and I ususally get first at competition at poetry clubs around my area. And yes I have times where I cant think of anything to write and it drives me crazy. I believe the only way to get better is to keep writing and try new things along the way. Austin

You can't be naturally talented at writing poetry; it comes from the heart and everybody has one. I do, however, believe in the Artist's Soul and the desperate pain to create something out of ethereal dreams. Poetry is only a medium to convey what we really feel, just like music, or painting, or cinema.

but yeah, it's natural.
i've been writing poetry & songs since i was a littlie.
it's torturous, actually.
