Generic medications

Do you feel just as safe taking generic medications as you do name-brand medications?
do you think they have the same effects or do they work to a lesser extent?

They should have the same effects, name brands are usually the more publicized and bought, but that doesn't mean that others aren't as good.

The ones i take work exactly the same, and save me a HELL of a lotta money so....

I recently went on generic meds for my back, because mom was paying hundreds of dollars for the others.
And, they have the same effect, actually the naproxen works better than the other pain reliever I had.

So, yeah.
I don't think there's a difference.
Just saves you lots of money.

I'll tell you this...
if you're using meds for legit reasons, the generics shoudl work fine. if your using them recreationally [to get high] then even though the generics may cut it, you may want the name brand.

I didnt quite understand that?...were you advocating the abuse of prescription drugs?....
or was that a really bad attempt at sarcasm or humor?

I think she was being serious, more just stating the point that if your doing illegal drugs and go generic there is all types of poisonous substances because people don't care they just chuck whatever they want in there. And saying that generic prescription drugs work just as well as name-brand because they have to pass regulations anyway. Whereas street drugs don't. But that's just my interpretation.

I appreciate your input...well taken, i took it differently, but i would really like to hear her response...before i speculate anymore...
