    Child of Nature

There is a lone bench sitting under a scarlet tree
Dead leaves surrounded this simple desolate place.
None come to visit this forsaken piece of beauty
It shows that some think it as just another waste.

This place has accepted its solitary confinement.
But a single person comes by and takes a seat.
Air whispering in confusion: Who is this man?
Is he just a trespasser giving rest to his feet?

Whoever this intruder is, he is not wanted...
The wind starts to blow; the tree starts to creek.
The startled man is aroused; he quickly departs
This sacred place is not for a dense man to sleep.

A single child appears before this great crimson tree.
She kneels and gathers her spirit, "I am sacrifice."
This sacred place lives on through this innocent being.
This place remains alive, she has agreed to the price.

There is a lone bench sitting under a scarlet tree
Dead leaves surrounded this simple desolate place.
One comes to visit this forsaken piece of beauty
The Child of Nature wanders this isolated space.

    Closure
    by AblissfulDREAMER

Young girl drastically perplexed by reality
Urgently escapes to a nearby sanctuary
As she wanders along its clear water edges
Her tragic love story, roams freely in her mind
Nothing in her view, but his once tender eyes
How they effortlessly held the faithful promise
Of a delightfully secure and beautiful forever

Troubling tears quickly arise in her eyes
Reality hastily strikes; their love cannot be
Two yearning souls, living two diverse lives

He can never hold her deep within his arms
And whisper sweet nothings avidly in her ear
She can never lose herself in his adoring eyes
And smile with glee each time he appears
They can never build a strong, loving family
Or live an enchanted happily ever after together

She shakes her head slightly, the images disappear
Back in view is her peaceful and inviting sanctuary
A place where the air is always crisp and clean
The beautiful creations of nature forever enchant her

Although this young girl lost all her faith in love
She is mystified by the beauty which surrounds her
Gazing at her reflection in the clear, stunning water
She lastly hits upon a reason to exist in this world

Love might have abandoned her and left her poignant
Yet she realizes life is worth living and hope is nearby
As she kneels gracefully underneath the mighty tree
And as its leaves gently kiss her skin, a smile appears
What once reminded her of a heartbreaking love lost
Now fills her heart with never-ending magnificence

    This fits #1 so perfectly....

As Quiet River Runs (Licentia Rhyme)

While ancient stones carried with snow melt go by
Still my form did quiet starling's lonely cry
Gnarled log my canopy dimpled in the sun
Dreams captured the day as quiet river runs
Feathers of wind tickled my sleep, you are there
As you always were, hint of gold in your hair
On the bank I held you, kissed away your tears
As if forever held no place in our fears
Lazy slumber lingered with our warm embrace
On fragrant bed of violets and Queen Anne's lace
You were laughing, we sent wishes to the sky
We never knew those seedlings carried our goodbye

Oh the springtime, when our love had just begun
Recall memories as quiet river runs
Sleep has gone, love has flown, drifting in the breeze
Wild geese cry in sympathy above bare trees
Vernal chill invades this trembling shattered heart
Skeletal branches plead for another start
Quiet river swells, a melancholy song
Remainders of a feeling, now love has gone
Wild flower remnants lie dry beneath my feet
"Please return"- repeats in every anguished beat
Clouds aloft bring home what I cannot deny
Change has come as snowflakes dance in Winter sky

A walk into the void, what's left of you there
Can still close my eyes and see gold in your hair
Quiet river silent, waiting for the Spring
As I, for dandelion wishes to bring
Waiting for violets and lost starling's song
Willing you to this bank, back where you belong
To lie safe in my arms and feel the new grass
Feeling at home when you are with me at last
Our quiet river will flow soft as before
On to forever to be lonely no more
And we'll be laughing, watching clouds floating by
To see dreams and wishes we've cast to the sky

I'm sorry mary but those spots are all taken...as stated in the rules you must reserve a spot. But I would be glad to place you somewhere else.

As long as those two lines say as much as any other poem...but they must be amazing, and you need to reserve. That way poets don't overlap eachother. Thanks for you interest! :)

    Upon Natures Path

Upon natures path I followed green
    My thoughts provoked lovely dream
The leaves of gold from autumn's tint
Had dyed their tresses lovely mint
Dressed in moss its mourning cloak
My eyes beheld a broaden oak
Limbs without falter held each nest
    Sheltered rain from feathered guest
    Strong and sturdy, weeping still
With splendor on a grassy hill
    Velvet blades caught acorn tears
    Solitary comfort through barren years
Furry friends have come and gone
Spent seedlings they have feasted on
Pinched myself to wake from sleep
    To realize truth of masterpiece
For beauty of true nature lies
Not in your dreams, but in your eyes

    Here's mine

    My Highway

    My life is a highway
I picked you up on the way
    didn't expect to love you
    didn't expect you to stay

    My life is a storm
    chaos and confusion reign
    sorry to get you involved
you don't need to bare my pain

    My life has no love
except what I feel for you
    which is silly, I know
because you don't love me too

    My life is a game
    how well can you play?
I've done pretty good so far
but can I keep it that way?

    My life is disappointment
    all I care about dies
    promises are broken
I don't need more of your lies

    My life is a highway
up ahead me is a light
    now that you're finally out
    my future is very bright

**yeah I know probably not worth the wait, but thank you for the chance anyway
