What do you think about guys starting to wear eyeliner now?...or as some guys at my school call it "guy"liner.

Honestly I think only girls should wear eyeliner, and I don't even care if I'm being sexist, because guyliner is ugly.

I think it depends. Some guys it just looks retarted, some guys it makes them look TOO girly, and some guys can pull it off. I think it's cool if the guy can pull it off. XD

It doesn't really matter to me, if someone is comfortable looking a certain way, they should not have to change to suit my likes and dislikes.

No offense to the original poster, but what is "new" about guy liner, do your homework...that goes way back to the glam of the 60's and 70's, david, bowie, alice cooper, iggy pop, and all the punk rock scene that followed that, hell everyone i know did that too, and as far as im concerned about your question, it's still cool...pile that crap on there, thick as all hell, globs of it, unless you're like "super goth" than you need to spend like hours, getting it super thin and just perfect kinda like a super model...either way, new phenomonen or not, it may not have quite the shock value what it once had ....butt it's still cool HELL YEAH ..ROCK ON..

Some guys look stupid wearing eyeliner. Some girls look stupid wearing eyeliner.

I honestly don't care if they look stupid. If they want to wear it, then who are we to say they can't?

Well haven't you haerd the phrase, "Real men wear pink" and beside pink used to be a mascaline color while blue was the opposite. Guys look good with longer hair as long as it's not all over the place. If you think there is something wrong with guys what do you call tomboys, which I was and basically still am at times? Something wrong with us then?

Replying to the origional question…guys have been wearing make up and eyeliner for years. In fact guys were painting their faces as long as women have been. It is nothing new. Maybe calling eyeliner ‘guyliner’ has recently hit them ainstream as some silly and immature term…but the actual act of decorating ones eyes with make up and paints (whether someone is male or female) is nothing new. Sorry to point out that it is no big deal or shocking, new behaviour…and to those blokes out there who are trying to be different by wearing make-up…lets see some origionality pleeeaaasse….

Oh yeah and pink really was a masculine colour. Pink was the colour which was used to represent men and boys, rather than blue. Pink was seen as the colour which was left in fabrics after blood had been spilt in battle...it washed out into pink and represented masculinity etc. It lost its masculine conotations and so was thrown down to women because it no longer had any strong or respectable symbolism. So, when women wear pink they are, often obliviously, condoning depreciating views of femininity.

And maybe the reason men are begining to be more open about wearing earings, make up, pink etc is because due to feminism striving to make men and women 'equal' the lines between what is feminine and what is masculine have become so broken and blured that men are loosing what was once their identity...lad culture. It doesnt have to be a good or a bad thing, look back in history, it is just the way things change. They always have and always will.

Who thinks its ok for women to wear trousers...y'know.

My generation had the long hair and everything that came with that but if you wore makeup to school you'd get your ass kicked for sure!

Still true today, some people do get beat down for it, I remember 12 years ago, when a kid around here got beat to death because he was wearing a kilt. Sad.

Todays youth has to do something that their parents didn't. So they color their hair, where eye liner.

Ah but some of their parents did. Punk has been around for a while. Glam, punk, goth, emo, whatever the case may be, it gets recycled, it is fashion. (don't tell the punks that though lol) I am 30, I have piercings, tattoo's, I don't want to see my daughter try to top me lol
