Been awhile since ive done this. Well the title tells it all, in this contest you'll be writing a shadow sonnet, tis one style ive rarely seen anyone do and sonnets are my fav,

Shadow Sonnet- The Shadow Sonnet was created by Amera M. Andersen, may be written in any sonnet style. The Shadow takes place at the beginning and ending of each line as the words are identical or homophonic. (Rules: 14 lines, 9 or 10 syllables per line. The poem should have a volta or pivit; iambic pentameter is not
    necessary.)

So pretty much, must have sonnet format with the begining word also being the ending in each line, with 9 or 10 syllables.

    Rules:
Can be old but preferable new
As many poems as one wants
First 10 people, Then ill close for judging.
    No Certain Genre
    Multi-Rounds

    Reserves:
    2) Jenna
    3) Teria
    5) Princess

    Sure can

    Forget About Love (Shadow Sonnet)

Forget About Love, wish I could Forget,
Why should I have to feel this, tell me Why,
Get on with my life, guess its what I Get,
Try to move on, it feels like I don't Try.

Hearts weren't meant to break, well tell my Heart,
All I want is to be happy thats All,
Depart from this pain, but I can't Depart,
Call your name, now I wish I didn't Call.

Around me the walls close in, all Around
Feel like nothing, nothing is what I Feel
Down on my knees, my broken heart sinks Down
Take all my pain away, god please just Take

Above me the ceiling falls from Above,
Love forgot me, I'll Forget About Love.

When I read over the rules I didnt see a statement listing that the title has to comply to the format of the poem, so I used a ordinary title.

Romance me with love and then a few lies.
We'll sing 'til 'morrow shows its lucid light.
    We will beckon close and we will advise;
"Alright, we won't live;" "It'll be alright."

We've learned to improve and the stakes are high,
Yet those colors are growing darker still.
Tell me, what were you going to imply?
"Fulfill? We've a prophecy to fulfill."

The waves are bashing the center isle,
    And those tidal's are growing a bit too high;
    The wedding's are crashing all the while;
"Why dance? We must always learn to ask why."

Oh, gorgeous, gorgeous, can't you hear me breathe?
The trumpets sounds high above our shoulders,
God loves lovers and liars, we agree,
"I swear I'll get better when I'm older."

The Shadow takes place at the beginning and ending of each line as the words are identical or
homophonic. Since all poetry was originally meant to be sung or recited out loud, homophonic
words are acceptable, these are words that sound alike such as see and sea. (Rules: 14 lines,
9 or 10 syllables per line. The poem should have a volta or pivit; iambic pentameter is not

Not my best work, but I gave it a go...

    Obsession [Shadow Sonnet]

You are the one for me, always been you
Yet you do not return these feelings ... yet.
True love could exist, I tell you it's true
Get caught up in lust; I'll get what I get.

Heart full of promise to share with your heart
Say what it is that you want me to say
Part of me already knows the best part
Pray that you love me is all that I pray

Fate brought me to you, thank goodness for fate
Crushed you for so long that my hearts now crushed
Wait for the day that I no longer wait
Push me away with one almighty push

Die to hold you, in your arms I could die
Try to love me; could you give "us" a try?

    ~Pete.

    Giving Up On Love

Dream of love, when night blankets the earth, dream,
You shall not touch it, it won't know you,
Scream, bare your soul in light and just scream,
Do not hesitate, whatever you do.

See, open your eyes and truly see,
    Lives colliding brutally into lives,
Debris falling on top of debris,
Thrives and although it falters, love thrives.

Closing your heart is like love closing,
Never found again, but in dream, never,
    Decomposing soul, souls decomposing,
All lost faith in love, no hope at all.

Time is both friend and foe, in time,
Sublime beauty, found in pain sublime.

    My Turn (Shadow Sonnet)

Never believed I'd find true love, never
Prayed for so long for you love I prayed
    Forever and longer, yours forever
Laid to rest sadness with promises laid

Meeting of souls in destiny's meeting
    Designs in heaven, perfection designs
Fleeting glimpses, love is so fleeting
Resign the heart, unto thee I resign

Last shot at love, have I found love at last?
Pain for so long, can't get over the pain
Past regrets linger, still color the past
Again the tears fall, ink smudging again

Chance of this meeting, slim to no chance
Dance with love's feelings, my turn to dance
