    Soul Thing

I see a small little girl,
    Hiding inside,
With a broken down heart and,
    A hobby of dying.

    Her face is plastered with,
Lies he had spit in her face,
    Her arms are covered with,
    Little thin red lines.

I see the darkness in her eyes,
    The cold, hollow path,
    She`s led so far,
    So long.

She doesn`t want to be here,
    Sick of getting played,
    Sick of getting hurt,
    Just sick.

Every time she thinks she`s going to be okay,
She relapses back into the little girl inside,
    All because they don`t understand,
She can only play the game so long.

Everything she ever wanted to be,
Had been blown from its candle,
    Her hopes and dreams,
Have died when her sun became black.

The world seems not to understand,
    The pain she is in,
    Knocking on a locked door,
    That will forever be closed.

I see a small little girl,
    Hiding inside,
With a broken down heart and,
    A hobby of dying.

It`s just a Soul Thing of hers.

    Give me tonight

Give me tonight someone to love
Give me tonight someone who cares
Give me tonight someone who will listen
    Give me tonight my wish

My wish that I might find someone who will love me for me
And not judge me because I may be different
I am a teenage girl just looking something that might be too much
I think that tonight that I might just forget everything

Give me tonight someone to love
Give me tonight someone who cares
Give me tonight someone who will listen
    Give me tonight my wish

    Life is full of surprises
Maybe on day I will get a surprise
And meet someone who likes me
But tonight I sit here and just wish and hope that one day it will happen

Give me tonight someone to love
Give me tonight someone who cares
Give me tonight someone who will listen
    Give me tonight my wish

    My Friends

    My friends are always there
    My friends care for me
My friends help me through life
My friend love me for me

My friends are there to comfort me when I am sad
They forgive me when I do something wrong
And they help me to be a better person
My friends are a big part of my life and I couldn’t live without them

    My friends are caring
    My friends are loving
    My friends are trustworthy
My friends are there when I am sad

My friends can be a pain but I love them and I know I would be totally different without them and I know I need them.

Without friend where would people be, where would the world be
    Who could live without friends?
I don’t think anyone could ever live if they didn’t have friends
Friends are a big part of everyone’s lives and I know that everyone needs them

    My friends make me smile
    My friends make me laugh
    My friends make me happy
My friends make me want to be here

Life may pull me and my friends far from each other but I know that we will always be friends, even if the distance makes us far apart from eachother I know that I will never forget them I will always remember the great times we all had together.

My friends are there to make me happy when I am sad
My friends are the best that I could have ever asked for
My friends know who I am but still love me
My friends know they mean a lot to me
My friends are there and always will be

My friends and I will be forever friends

    "The Maze"

    Take now a moment,
    And enter my mind's eye,
    The twisted Labyrinth within,
    That reaches to the sky.

    The paths are overgrown,
And the walls, riddled in vines,
    Can you find the prize?
To this broken heart of mine?

    Some routes are blocked,
    Where admittance is denied,
    Created from the sorrows,
Of those that made me cry.

    Can you persevere,
    And continue to retry?
    To find the buried treasure,
Of this broken heart of mine?

    The Son of a Carpenter

    The son of a carpenter,
    No flesh nor bone,
    Nor life blood,
    Nor feeling,
    Nor soul of his own.

    The son of a carpenter,
    Sits all alone,
    Naked and wooden,
    Emotion not shown.

    His eyes stare,
    As buttons do,
    His limbs limp and dry,
    His face looks despairing,
    But he cannot cry.

    There's many a legend,
    Surrounding the son,
    But most pay heed,
    To only but one,
They say he was real once,
    Could move by himself,
    But now he is doomed,
    To fade on a shelf.

    Some quote his making,
    Of endless care,
    Of carving and cutting,
    Of dust in the air,
    They said Pa was obsessive,
    Down to the eyes,
    Buttons, dark glinting,
    That in certain lights,
    Can catch the sunshine,
    To seem like he cries.

    They say also, too,
    That he was abused,
    That after the making,
    He was not well used,
    That hands that held him,
    Were fumbling and rough,
    That all of his trimmings,
    Were never enough.

    Some people fear him,
    The child made of pine,
They say that Pa stole him,
    Straight from the divine,
    They tell of his daring,
    Of running, cunning and fleet,
    With puppet in tow,
    And dancing, swift feet.

All of the tales have one thing alike,
All of them have one thing to show,
    Each one is different,
    Apart from one thing,
They are each about suffering and woe.

    Why do you pity,
    A little wood boy?
    No matter what Pa says,
    He's only a toy.

    On Broadway

    there's a brief moment
    right before the sunsets
    behind the bright city lights
that I see you standing there
with a glowing smile and laughing eyes.
On the corner were we literally,
    and metaphorically, crossed the road
from friends to lovers in a heartbeat
    and skidding break lights.

    There are lingering, fingertip feelings,
that brush my heart on the bursting street
    outside of your favorite store.
    Memories of watching three men
playing hide and seek like grown lost boys
until their Wendy called them back to reality
only to get drawn into the festivities.

    There was a fleeting instance,
that I almost thought, I forgot it.
    The emerald of your eyes
    the echo of your laugh
    the gentleness of your hands
wrapping tight and protective around mine.

I left a single smiling daisy,
    standing there to remember you.
And to remember that I found my first love
    right there, on Broadway.

    The Runaround

    You, make my head spin
    with all those lines
running from your oh so coy and
quirky smirk as you watch me
twirl my sandy hair completely baffled.

Yet again, you've managed to make us
a complex sentence fitted with too many nouns
and have me dancing around you
like a ballerina in constant motion
tottering after you with my stiletto heels
    and hiding behind aviator shades
just so you don't see the hurt there.

    Tonight, you held me close.
Hands on hips you say fit perfectly
with another cocky smirk as your eyes
so evergreen and everclear refelct my own
as you twirl me round the room like
a trophy to display and a script we follow.

    I might as well smile,
half hearted and half sure of the feeling
bubbling through my veins when you kiss my cheek
and call me your "darling poet"
    when tomorrow you'll drunkly complain
that I don't wear the little pink shorts
and flip flops from Vegas and I spend too much time
    thinking up stories and romances
as you light up another cigarette
    and text another girl
    from the previous night.

I seem, to be chasing after you.
and never know which version I'll find.
The one who sleeps in late with tawny bed head
    and a goofy smile.
holding me close with a chain of butterfly kisses
to wrap me in and lock me into your spell.

or will that ignorant self indulgent boy
with his cruel one liners and transparent lines
    come out again?
    Making me curse how eveytime
I start to believe in us
and I believe we'll be able to make it work
you turn into the same boy
    who gives me the runaround
and plays me like a fool in love.

    West Texas Sky

    The west Texas sky has,
    So much to hold,
    Things to be seen,
    Near and far.

So come along with a journey,
    Never forgotten,
There are so many things to journey through,
    In a west Texas sky.

    Dark midnight colored clouds,
    Come rumbling in,
    From the west Texas sky,
    There they come dancing in
    Feel the rain fall,
    From an endless sky.

    The sun shines brightly,
    Dancing with the shadows,
    You can run and hide,
    But the sun will always,
Find a way to you and,
    Forever be the light.

    Look at the meadows,
    So violently tall,
    Blowing in the wind,
    Bending at its tails,
    Wide and far,
The golden meadows seem to be.

    The wind that breezes through,
Blows that flag like it`s nothing,
It carries a sweet, sweet smell,
The wind always seems to have,
A cool touch to the skin and,
    A flow in your hair.

The sky carries a rainbow of colors,
When the morning sun comes up,
    A deep blue ocean sky,
Carries the creatures in the sky,
Colors of red, orange, yellow touch the sky,
When the sun goes down past the pastures.

    You see the wonders and,
    You see the colors,
    I` shown you everything,
    Of a life I live,
Still wishing I could see the,
    West Texas Sky.

    Title: HOLD ONTO YOUR LOVE
    AUTHOR: Sweet Lig

Oh my love, my darling please dont go
Stay beside me and hold on
Yeah! Just hold onto your love

There are moments I treat you so bad
Sometimes Ive been a little selfish
Youve been hurting so many times
And Ive been foolish and cruel

Oh my love, my darling please dont go
Stay beside me and hold on
Yeah! Just hold onto your love

I know sometimes I was mistaken
Sometimes I fail and Im imperfect
There are moments Ive been careless
And Never been aware for some things

Oh my love, my darling please dont go
Stay beside me and hold on
Yeah! Just hold onto your love

Ive been foolish but I love you so
I promise I wont be the same
    Cause youre my love
    And it will never change

    My lover please dont go
Stay with me, just love me
    And HOLD ONTO YOUR LOVE

My last edition to the contest

    Georgia on my mind

    From November to January
    Winter is always here. Being
inside by the warm fire lying
next you. While we listen to
    Georgia on my mind.

    Spring is the time where
all the love ends. But me
and you just keep it going.
My favorite part is when we
dance to Georgia On my mind.

Summer is almost over. And so is
our love. Im sorry to say but I have
to move. My dad got a new job down
in Louisiana. But no matter what
I will always remeber those times
we spent. I will always have Georgia
    on my mind.

Fall is lasting real long. Ive come
back to be in your arms one last time.
But only to find you found another song.
Now all I can do is cry when I hear
    Georgia on my Mind.

    Georgia On My Mind

Theres a place called Georgia on my mind,
All the things I thought I would see,
All the things I thought I would know,
    Disappeared when he walked away.

    He's a Georgia boy,
Who had my heart all to himself,
    But he burnt it like,
    Words on paper.

He thought I would soon forget,
All that I ever felt for him,
But unlike the words on paper,
Things imprinted in your heart are unforgetful.

    Days on end,
My heart would call for him,
    My structure would soon fall,
    When he didn't come back.

    I began the journey,
The one that I knew would take,
    A long time to overcome,
    A long time to forget.

    I often found myself,
    Waiting for his phone call,
    I often found myself,
    Thinking about him.

The fact that he left me,
Should've made me want to forget,
But it doesn't scare me nor,
Did it make me think different.

I got Georgia on my mind again,
When that Georgia boy called up,
Said he wanted to see how I was doing,
Just when I was building myself back up again.

    I wanted to ask him,
Why he even bothered to call,
I won't hear from him in months again,
I, now, have to start all over again.

I have to build my structure to keep me still standing,
I have to build my courage to keep me going on,
I have to build my hopes to keep me loving another man,
I have to build my mind so I don't go running back that Georgia boy.

    That Georgia boy,
Tore me down and walked away without even saying sorry,
Broke me down and didn't even see what he had done,
Destroyed me and didn't even offer to give me back my heart.

It's been a year or two,
I've gotten most of my heart out of that Georgia boy's grasp,
So much self-destruction I have done to myself,
    With Georgia on my mind.

    Dream Myself Awake

Shattered memories concealed in a dream
and cheap lights of future catastrophes sing
    melodies of artificial, pale enlightenment.

Extraordinary bells summon nocturnal shades on boulevards
    as I secretly sculpture clay flowers and trees;
faces of broken silence whisper, reaching my fears
inside of this glowing lightning bolt that ignites innocent gaze.

Dreamers and silent zephyrs follow my laughter
somewhere behind gray curtains of suffocation...
an army built a temple inside my bleeding heart
and their prayers cringe to my darkened nature.

Hide me inside the fractures of your senseless words
as I can be whole, feeding with silver empathy.
...shattered memories will stay concealed for eternity.

    Dream Myself Awake
    January 7, 2007

    Tip-toeing through ashes with uncertainty,
as we clearly see the wrong in our rights.
    Always breaking, never once bending,
the clouds darken in spite of the light.

    Show me your scars, I'll show you mine;
flash me all your cards, who you really are.
That train of old memories passes through,
and tremors shoot through us, as of a star.

These old rhymes use to lace with reason,
now they run together in a circle as one.
They dip their toes into these dirty secrets,
my scars continue to show all I've done.

[See what you did to me?]

The moonlight kisses the gray sky tonight,
the light shines over the broken pavement,
and my heart aches with childhood pain,
I'm deprived; Where's the time I never spent?

Melodies cross over, as I sing myself to sleep,
trying to holding this together for your sake.
I breathe insecurities, but I live for the hope -
that I can someday live, not dream myself awake.

    By: i love you silly
    HOLD ONTO YOUR LOVE!

    Once again
    you have broken my heart
    into pieces
    and more pieces

    I sit here crying,
but no matter how many tears I cry
    you will never be mine
    again

    I look back
    at all the memories
    me and you share
    and it kills me

    I have so much regret
why didn't I fight for you
I just let you slip right from my arms
    and leave

    I loved you,
    you know?
and I wanted to tell you,
but i guess it's too late for that

everyone said I would be better off without you,
but the truth is I'm worse
the pain I feel is breaking me
    into pieces

I should have held onto you
    and never let you go,
    but I did
    and now were over

so when you find that other girl
it will kill me, but at least your happy
    even if I'm not
    your all I care about

    so everyone that has something
    wonderful with their boo
    HOLD ONTO YOU LOVE
    and never let go

    Just To Feel That Way

I'd give anything in the world,
To feel that you love me.
    It all seems impossible now,
    Yet I cannot give up.

    We were once very happy,
But now that happiness has gone away.
It seems like you can't stand me,
And it hurts my heart to feel that way.

I've always wondered what had happened,
Why you hate me so much.
Even after all the fights we've had,
Just know that I still love you.

You used to call me your favorite daughter,
Now they doesn't mean a thing.
I'd give up anything in this world,
For you to feel that way.

    ~~Do I Make You Proud~~

Just a slight caprice of imagination,
    paintbrush soaked with liquid distance
yet, the voices echo over wonders, again
    carving impressions into broken pupils.

Do I make you proud, would you just turn
your head away before shadows that I weave?
    Sagacity whistles through the branches
and my doorway's ornamented with mistletoe...
Would you listen to fractured sound of my footsteps?

    Cleansing shine weeps over shrines
    molding beauties forgotten, beauties unknown;
crystal spirit embodies inside the closet,
    enchantingly singing till the dawn...

Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home)

Sweetness erodes the words till there's nothing left to say,
    locked up within chambers of Shakespearian tragic play;
thoughts succumb to maniacally arranged stars that bled
through honey syllables, scenarios that I read.

Your proofs are just blurred lines spilled over the screen
while my entity howls, screams from within,
craving for freedom, feeding soul with lies-
sanguinary hours melt alibis and disguise.

Reflections of crystallized sky exclude mind
from gray realizations I'd gladly leave behind.
Wherever I lay my hat that's my home
colored with moisten hues of ginger and chrome.

    Give Me Tonight

    Give me tonight
    To show you the stars
    The ones that are close
And the ones that are far

    Give me a chance
    To be all yours
    To open a door
    To you and much more

    Give me love
    To spread all around
    To hear the joyous sound
    That will always be found

    Give me hope
    So that I may find
    The hidden sign
    That lies deep inside

    Give me strength
    So that I can fight
    For what is right
    In this complex life

    Give me tonight
    The stars from above
    Give me tonight
    Some of your love

    All the treasure's of life
    And what really is right

    You will find your strength
    That measures no length

    You will find hope
    And ways to cope
    You will have faith
