Society contest

RULES~ has to be something to do with society. rhyming is optional. two entries per poet. NEW. i will take all entries until the closing date. prizes to be decided depending on number of entrants. each entry will be commented. do NOT enter if you can't handle constructive criticism. closing date-25th jan.

Spoilt Society

We worship the rich; while forgetting those who are poor
Bow down to unjust rulers, who call on even more war.

We scar our land, air and water; Causing a rise,
In pollution world wide, we believe all of the lies.

Media has become the essence; we believe it all
Forget each and every contradiction - which they scrawl.

Celebrities are our new idols; what are they actually famous for?
They're more important then doctors - which do we adore?

We are all judged and placed; we are all strangers on the street
We are all stitches in this torn, dirty, scraggy sheet.

This is our culture, society today. And this is the reason I tend to stray...

Simple Sensation

Okay so here my poem(first time so forgive me)

Blissfully Ignored
When did it all start?
the begining of the end
the tainted hearts of society and
the blackness of our lives

Babies found in dumpster bags
unwanted by they're imperfection
mothers of the drug wanted
to take care of the unwanted things

Straving models of the rich
throwing up for the masses
to look inhuman is they're goal
bones sticking out of twisted skin
the remains of lunch floating in the depths

Unreasonable damned
rich demons living off the misery off the poor
fighting for war and ending with death
svu's are the kings
stupid fools will get no help
from the claws of the of greed
drinkng your stupid gold
and savor the taste

Surely the end will come
but society is selfish
and simply repeat itself

and
simply repeat itself

I'm going to leave this open for the next few days and see if anyone else is interested. if not, i will start judging.

Can they be old?

Well.. i made it after this contest was open.. lol

(okay this might be a bit confusing but all the words with " " around them is from one point of view and the ones with * * around them is from another point of view. if there is nothing around them. they are speaking together)

Take Me Home

"Walking past recording history with my camera
I gaze upon faces my heart, it breaks to see
Tortured souls upon tattered lands
All I wanted was to step foot on happy ground"

*Sense I can remember I've been taught but one thing
And that is man kind... is not all that is good
That when my day comes, I will gladly fall to my knees
For my people, for my father, for my family*

"I was at a ceremony in Tayaran square
And all I could think was how I wanted to be home
As I moved the camera around the happy faces
My eyes froze upon a button, I didn't know what to do"

*I looked into her eyes and i felt my heart race;
For just a few moments my fingers did freeze.
But as she turned to run I remembered my honor--
so i pessed the button and fell to my knees*

"I was a reporter, and now I'm an angel"

*I was the bomber, serving my country*

"And with this halo on my head, I have one wish"

*I look to the heavens, asking them but one thing*
