This useless usage of televison...

My sleep schedule is thrown out of whack, lets say, about 9/13 times. So my nights can either end at 11 pm, or 4 am, and during these times I've come to a conclusion. That static is more educational than some of the useless smut on televison at 3 am. Mainly I would have to say the stuff is on one station to be honest. Adult Swim (which is the Nick@Nite for cartoon network) Shows like "Drunk Chicken" , "Metalocolypse", "Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job" these shows for some reason, just make me want to turn the tv to static and try to follow a black dot as it begins a journey around the screen.

Its this useless stuff that horrifies me in the future. Shows like "Family Guy, Simpsons, Futurama" (as much as I love them) come close to pushing the envelope. But there are many other shows that just completely make me want to take action for robbing me of the minutes of my life wasted on the show.

I fear for my children! Some of us blame television for the corupt youth of America, but I HONESTLY believe that this crap on televion, this waste of station money that could be used for real entertainment and not some 2bit stupidity-comedy. Take a shot, flip on the tv at 3 am and try to watch more then 5 minutes of this without feeling the urge to bend over a toilet bowl.

If your so scared for your child, then when and if you do have any, spend time with them, keep active and don't let them watch television...that easy.

Well no its not even that. I have the ability to change the channel and monitor whats going on. But you can't completely shelter kids or anyone else for that matter from this smut completely.

It just scares me that people actually watch this stuff and find it entertaining.

Yeah I agree. The computer is worse though. You can search anything yo uwant and come up with results.

Both electonic items though have the possibility of stumbling upon something that can scar, confuse, disgust, or in other words leave you in a worse condition than before.

Yeah and you also make some good points in your post.

But its not so much that parents should monitor them more heavily, its more of, how the hell can this stuff get on the airwaves, and a network think that it is suitable for air at any time?

See that is why it is on only late at night, because the people that want to sleep will sleep and the people that want to watch those shows will stay up and watch them.
