Two Things : One Serious, One Comic Relief.

Okay, so I had two things I came here to talk about. I was thinking about making two different posts, because well, they're two VERY different topics. However, that would be a waste - why not just embrace the A.D.D that defines me and save some room.
    Topic Number One:
I watched a story about serial killers earlier this morning, and learned something I didn't know before. All those serial killers that made a name for themselves, also ended up making themselves they're own business of advertisement. People made T-shirts devoted to 'the great serial killers we'll always remember, and forever fear' (Or whatever the hell that quote was), there was posters, pogs, collectible cards. Not just horror movie characters (though, alot of horror movies are based on real killers - incase you didn't know that already) but Real serial killers. The insane, and the sane but even more evil.

These guys get their own T-shirt, and yet, I know of alot of surgeons that try to save lives. They don't always get to save lives, but they're still blamed. Their mistakes still make them evil. They remain nameless.
The community worker that picks up your garbage to keep the community clean, nobody knows they're name let alone their existance.

So why are the evil deeds rewarded? What is this?
Am I the only one making a big deal about it?
    ------------------------------------------
Topic Number Two: I figured I'd save this for last, for the comic relief, because lets face it: nobody needs more of a reason to be angry, frusterated, sad or worked up in any way really. So, for all you who are bored, or simply interested (which you should be, I'm a genius lol) you should go to youtube - if you can- and look up emohugger6.
She's currently got 3 very entertaining videos. Haha, and all 3 of them I make an appearance of some sort. *Which makes it more interesting. haha jk.

Anyways, I hope all you - my fellow writers- are doing great. I am going to go get my jog in for the day before it's too dark. I'll talk to you all later :).

    Stay wonderful!

    Hmmm...
I probably blabbed too much that nobody bothered to read it. lol that or maybe I am the only person that's bothered with the way the government works, double jeopardy rules (though I haven't mentioned that ridiculousness yet) and fame for serial killers.
    ...*sigh*

Here's an answer you may not like but, nonetheless I think it's relevant.
"So why are the evil deeds rewarded? What is this?
Am I the only one making a big deal about it?"

For this simple reason that people are interested in them, and you are part of the problem. You watched the documentary/programme about serial killers, they get higher ratings the broadcasting agency puts more shows on relating to the same topic.

On the topic of the people doing the menial jobs not being noticed ... you can definitely speak for yourself there - My garbage collector is called Mark and I've been out with him a couple of times, mostly playing poker. The street sweepers name is Dave and he has 3 kids, 1 just moved away. I bought him and his family an Xmas card with a "tip" in it. My normal postman is called Bob, he's just broke up with his girlfriend of 9 years - we plan on going out to the pub at lunchtime at some point next week.

My point being - you think the people doing the menial jobs don't get noticed ... because you don't notice them!

Anyway, I'm off to throw mud at the window cleaner.

Lol Pete, you sound like my kinda person.
But you shouldn't assume. I know my postman, the garbage man, and the street sweeper is my ex's father. I know four bums that wander around the neighborhood here, they collect bottles. One of them is a drunk, can't say he's the best person, but he used to sneak into our car for a safe place to sleep. Derek, is one of them that collects his bottles and gets food from the deli to go share with cheryl and joe (the other two bums - joe being cheryl's son, though grown up now) so they all have something to eat.
But you think anyone else in the neighborhood knows why he asks for bottles?

However, on the other topic, you're right - I was watching the documentary. And I was interested. But my interest isn't the reason that some of the killers are being paid. That's right paid. Corbin....somebody...(I suck at names) is one of those serial killers that killed and raped children. The government paid him $150,000 (some money from which came from his T-shirt sale profit) to confess to the public everything he did. And yes, he's in jail still. But he gets probation every few years, and leaves jail with money and a smirk. Under high surveilance, but does that really make a huge difference?
    ... I just don't think it's fair.

Though I couldn't be more happy with your response - not to mention your level of intelligence and thought put into your response. You seem pretty damn smart, and I can only admire that. (No matter the assumptions you made about me as a person.)

People are fascinated by the guesome, most of these serial killers have a following of people who are obsessed with them, women who want to be with them. With media oversensationalizing and people looking to touch fame or infamy, it is easy for these people to find a following, it never quite seems real unless your the one being murdered.

Topic 1: I know you want to feel like the world should be one clean and happy place where justice is truly fair. But fact is, it is not.

You're quite right in saying is it fair that evil should be rewarded. But again you should look at the people you are gave examples too. Each of these doctors, surgeons and community cleaners may seem altrustic, but the surgeon&doctor get paid for that good work they do. And the community worker get paid by self-worth, money, making their community into something respectable etc...

Like the old addage goes: Nothing in this life is free.

Just like the many serial killers are paying for their deeds with their lives. There are those that exploit this.

People buy these kinds of things because it is outside their own norms. It is something they will never understand and something they will always fear.

    Topic 2:

The burping was quite amusing..As for the shoving of maltsers...Wow..It was quite interesting...

Void, my friend, I was making no assumptions. I have no way of knowing how you live your life. I was simply stating a fact that the (for the masses) the life they are presented with is the life they accept.

As you have pointed out, how many people in our society know or make an effort towards those that give us the quality of life we have become accustomed to ... let alone admire the work they do? It almost beggars belief.

I won't pretend or attempt to fool anyone that I even have the first clue about how/what serial killers are given. It isn't something that I really think about. I will say this though, there is an unspeakable gulf between being known and respected within your peer group for what you do (doctors/nurses/teachers - as mentioned earlier), and having notoriety.

People always have, and will continue, to be fascinated by the notorious. Outlaws were feared and reveered at the same time during the "Wild West" times. They were equivalent to todays celebrities.
