As Angels Cry

She was mistaken for coincidental perfection
between gray shades of grotesqueness,
like bleak mannequin, mirror without reflection
with burden hidden behind colored eyelids.

Consequences broke barriers and walls
exposing pureness to thunderstorms
as angels cry the devil crawls
to reach that sculptured heart of gold.

Translucent tranquility in her dying soul
blinded motions of the faceless silhouette
within the mind forsaken, losing control
falling into those treacherous arms.

Fractures of innocence filled apathetic mind,
spilling blood over shattered consolation,
as angels cry the devil designed
a crown for his bride, the veil of malediction.

I haven't decided the DeadLine yet.

The Wreckage (Nove Otto)

Disguised within inner alliance
future notes formed fake reliance;
Unique rhymes marked skin, tattoos
that created somber, dynamic mix.
Foundation of illusive bricks
carried ravaging ideas and blues,
watering hopes in the mind
with venoms solemnly combined
etched upon wry patterns and hues.

The Nove Otto poetry form was created by Scott J. Alcorn. It is a nine-lined poem with
8 syllables per line (isosyllabic). The rhyme scheme is as follows: aacbbcddc.

Something to Lose

I wish I had something to lose
I wish I had something to prove
I wish I had something to give
I wish I had a reason to live

This life gets more and more pointless every god damn day
The monotonous life I live is unsatisfying and for it I pay
With depression and insomnia, these pills don't do anything
My brain is tingling, migraines kicking in, every day blinding
If only I had something, anything to live for
I don't know why I do this anymore

Can you give me a reason to take another step?
Can you give me a reason to take another breath?
Can you give me a reason to not give up?
Can you give me a reason when push comes to shove?

If I had something to lose it would be gone by now
I've had everything taken from me and never knew how
The world I live in is so cold with no life at all
My walk, once proud is reduced to a crawl
If I had something to lose it would make me seem human again
There's nothing human about being alive because at the end of your thoughts is a pen
And no other reason.

From far away this little rock,
Must seem like such a sight,
Hanging here among the stars,
A victim of our plight.

Giving life, providing comfort,
Our mother is this earth,
We've suckled her straight into death,
To thank her for our birth.

Filled with greed there is no limit,
We do not strive to pass,
Every heart is filled with want,
Each soul can break like glass.

Shattered pieces on the ground,
Sparkle from afar,
You don't think, unless you know,
Exactly who they are.

Moving on, just getting by,
All that some can do,
Lost inside a dreary world,
That distance misconstrues.

A tiny rock, a cozy sun,
Floating, lost in space,
Dirty secrets hidden here,
Should leave us in disgrace.

In a pretty pink dress
That was going to waste
As I sat on the side
With a sad little face

But you walked to my place
And opened up your hands
Smiled as you asked me
Would you like to dance?

And I did...

It was my first dance with love
I took it soft and slow
Nowhere else to be
Nowhere else I'd rather go
It was my first chance to be
Someone else's girl
To be held in his arms
Wrapped up in their world
And I prayed the song would never end

We had good memories
That followed us that night
But the bad ones came too soon
And left us bitter fights

I watched you walk away
Closed minded with closed hands
And heartache came to me
Said Would you like to dance?

And I did...

It was my first dance with pain
I took it soft and slow
Nowhere else to be
Nowhere else that I could go
It was my first chance to lose
My entire world
Knowing that from now on
I was no one's girl
And I prayed the song would come to an end
I don't think I ever want to dance again

First Dance

They were the same soft words
that spun through my head
from the first moment you
had placed your hand in mine
and smiled like it was forever.

"You're my survival you're my living proof"
how many times did I fall asleep
listening to the whisper fallen
graceful from your loving lips.

It was remembering how it felt,
one hand on my waist
the other holding me tight
as you spun me round like a top
out of control and never wanting
the dizzy feeling to end.

You smiled, and your smile
was the spotlight and nothing
reached me when it was here.
To keep me spinning and believing things
were always going to be the same.

They were playing our song
the overcasted day I was driving home
for the first time
to the empty apartment
where you first called me "lover"
and danced with me in the candle light.

And I remember the last dance,
was filled with as much magic
when it was the first dance
because your love will always be
the music to hold me safe
and keep me spinning in circles
waiting for you to take the lead again.

In Love With A Memory

Sometimes I sit and wonder,
How life without you would be.
You once told me you never cared,
And I was just a game,
But I never believed it.

You called me every night,
And called me cute names.
You were first in my life,
The sweetest person alive,
An angel of mine.

But now everything is fading away,
The phone stops ringing,
My pen stops writing.
Day by day, night by night,
You're fading out of my life.

It's hard and I don't want to let you go,
But it's not real love.
I though it was, but I was wrong.
Because in reality,
I'm in love with the memory of you.

I tell you that I'm not gonna cry
As tears run down my cheeks.
I tell you that I'll stand up tall
As I fall to the ground on my knees.
I tell you that I'll hold my head high
As I look to the cold dusty floor.
I tell you that I'm gonna stay strong
As I feel I can take it no more.
I tell you that I'm not gonna change
As every piece of who I am slips away.
I tell you that I'm gonna be fine
As my heart says "I'm not okay."
I tell you that I won't question our love
As my mind repeats the same question, why?

Ok I had a really good idea for "something to lose" but now it's gone. Having a complete block over this one so I'm gunna have to withdraw. But my "I'm not gonna cry" is up there.

We ended up having a death in the family as of Monday night, I found out Tuesday night. It's taken a hard toll on us in the family.

In love with a memory....
( nice title picks by the way)

The luminescent glow of candle light.
The aura it puts upon my oaken desk.
All thats in my hands, a faded photograph, a sight.
Tears just held back, but only with all my might.

Long ago, the event occurred, but never a day goes by.
When my mind doesn't wander to think of him.
And always do I let out a sigh.
For the one I love, who let me down with one simple lie.

How could I trust him, that much I thought.
I didn't give him the second chance he deserved.
And now the sun has set, no time left, he never sought,
He let me be. And I didn't see we were BOTH distraught.

I didn't choose to see the love we had.
I blew the only true chance I'd have at happiness.
and now all I have is a memory, so sad.
of the one true love I'll ever have.
