Vegetarians

I have a theory... I am a big meat eater. I love my meat. Our bodies were designed to eat meat. We are at the top of the food chain for a reason. We get a lot of vital nutrition from red meat (iron/protein) which cant be absorbed into the body in the same way/potency as it can from any other vegetable etc.

Thus my theory goes like this:

"Anyone that resists its animalistic, natural urges to eat meat, cant be trusted"

How can you trust someone that goes against everything the body is designed for?

Actually, we designed our bodies to eat meat in the plains of Africa because food was scares. So, on that principal we were designed to be vegeterians just steered off the path :)

Also Mo, if you know anything about biology, specifically human biology you would know that our teeth, though superficially sharp at the front, are more akin to bovine animals in that most of our teeth are specially designed for chewing and mashing, not for ripping which suggests we are meant to eat grasses and other veggie food stuffs.

Also, our intestines are very long, which means food stays in our stomachs for quite a long time. Now look at the intestines of any major mammal predator such as a Lion or Wolf you you will discover that they have very short intestines.

Why you may ask in your ignorance?

Meat putrifies in our stomachs if it stay there breaking down for too long, it emits gasses and toxins and gets our system bogged down and clogged up, because we are not designed to eat meat....certainly not large amounts. This is why predator mammals with sharp ripping teeth also have short intestine which are designed to handle meat. We have long intestines which can handle vegatables, which pass through our systems faster, and to get all the goodness out of them we have long intestines.

If you ever watch a lion eat a Zebra, as I have on numerous occasions, you'll notice that it always eats the stomach first...this is the prime area of the kill...and why? Because it gets to absorb some of the partially digested grasses which it's body can't handle.

    I hope this helps.

And I don't trust people who don't eat.

Whatever our bodies were designed for, it is clear that our brains were designed for storing knowledge about these issues, and thereby making the most reasoned choices, ungoverned by any of the alleged natural needs. I mean, our bodies were also not naturally built to fly, be cloned, be celibate, live longer, commit suicide, listen to Backstreet Boys etc, but our brains still make a seemingly natural choice for us, right?

It is an outrage for most humans to eat crappy miserable meat, especially in light of spicy lentils, roasted eggplants and pesto.

But then, it seems our brains were also designed to be the greediest.

In short, "Mo", I find your carnivorous behaviour primitive and disgusting, and I am wholly against your "theory". I find it supremely ridiculous. Firstly, with humans, "natural"ness is a myth. Secondly, I would not necessarily "trust" anyone based on their dietary decisions, but "trust" is another topic, and should be completely unrelated to the witless substance of your "theory". Thirdly, I admire any individual who has enough awareness and respect for his fellow earth citizens ("animals"), and Earth itself, to refuse to cruelly exploit them for cheap and handy mass consumption by "humans".

Seafood and animal testing is okay though.

^ eating mechanically recovered tortured meat stuffed high with preservatives and binders and fat and nitrate and sodium served in a sheep's intestine or artificial collagen casing for nothing greater than greed and convenience is not okay, how would you like it if I treated you like a literal worthless piece of meat. tsk tsk.

"anyway, back to the orginal poster. i have no idea how someone can go without meat, i live for grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. :)"

^^ This does not count as meat.

Im talking about rare to medium rare, bloody, juicy, dripping, red, rip-snorting, darn-tooting, delicious, glorified, pieces of animal flesh. Insides not included.

Extreme animal rights activists make me want to go out into the woods and start kicking wildlife

"Properly planned vegetarian diets have been found to competely satisfy nutritional needs in every stage of life, significantly reduce risks of major diseases, including cancer, promote a healthier body mass index, reduce excess body fat, and increase longevity. In partiuclar, non-lean red meat eaten over a lifetime has been found to increase the risks of several forms of cancer by 20 to 60 percent, while possibly causing adverse mutations in DNA."

So ... The body wasn't designed to eat only vegetables?
I'm not a vegetarian, I'm an Everything-vore. I do, however, know vegetarians that I would trust with my life. Pft .. don't trust people that don't eat meat. That statement's up there with the worst I've ever heard.

It's a totaly normal thing... I'm not a vegetarian but I am a muslim and we're forbidden from eating "haram" food, and it's a loooong list of things, the most thing all of you will relate to is pork... it's haram! So if you asked me How can you live without pork? I'd say How can you eat pork? cuz to us it's disgusting.. pigs eat everything! It's the same with vegetarians... you can't live without meat and they can't eat it ... they're too sensitive to eat meat and if they ate meat knowing that it was meat they'd probably puke.

This thread just made me really crave a hamburger. A thick, juicy, medium-rare burger, layered with melted cheese and fresh onions, served alongside crispy fries and a smooth shake. Just imagine biting into that succulent, vital meat... rawr!

My god im so hungry now..thanks guys. x.x

im a huge meat eater..well beef anyway. im not a fan of anything else...except maybe chicken every once in a while covered in buffalo sauce..lol. how many people in this world can say they eat their favorite animal? i can. i love cows and everything about them...but ANYWAY...

anyway, everyone is different. so they are vegetarian..who cares? how does that make them untrustable (is that a word? lol)? all you are doing is stereotyping. some people need to go on a vegetarian diet for their health. red meat is also bad for you keep in mind.it causes some type of cancer..i forget which.

if someone wants to be vegetarian, who are we to judge? i have vegetarian friends whom i trust and meat eaters whom i trust. they are all the same to me. and what if they were meat eater turned vegetarian..then what? are they instantly not to be trusted?

You know, you can all talk about what you chose to do, and wax lyrical about being top of the food chain etc etc.

Our bodies, evolutionary wise, are meant for eating vegetables, not meat, or not large amounts at least.

Really that's all there is to it for me, and if you look at the meat industry, at least in Britain and America, and see the reality of how it churns out those tasty burgers....you will thank your lucky stars you evolved to handle both.

The only meat a person should chew on is their lovers.

    Tasted like chicken.

All of the protein and other nutrients you get from meat you can get from anything else. Except vitamin B I think...its some vitamin, but you can take a supplement for it anyways.
