Maybe im not strong enough

So why is is that when i am finally happy with my life...he always finds a way back in? I am soo happy with my boyfriend and he finally trust me again...but that one person that i am trying to forget about always finds a way back into my life...maybe im to nice...I want to let go but he wont let me and i dont know how...
help please
