Fluffy needs your help...

Hello, fellow poets.

I am writing to you in regards to a school fundraiser that is set to take place within the next couple of months. Unfortunately, my Head teacher has put me in charge of the event and needs me to think of new, innovative and exciting ways to raise money for the school's appeal for Malawi.

Now, we often do the same sort of thing every year: fashion/talent show and food and game stalls etc. But we're looking for something different this year, and much to my dismay, I am simply clueless as to what the student body could get together and do.

Thus, I would kindly ask that if any of you have any valid but more importantly, unique fundraising ideas to offer - you are more than welcome to.

However, DO take into consideration that this is an ALL GIRLS school. Therefore, the chances of a potential school dance, kissing booth and all that nonsense are very thin.

What about a bikkini carwash. I don't mean to sound like a pig. But guys like girls in swim wear and cars. I doubt they'll alow a bikkini carwash, but a regular carwash is good....good lucks

You could go to local businesses and ask for donations and hold a raffle. It's free advertising for them.

Blood drive... *shudders* i hate needles.

anywho, how about a candy fundraiser? sell lots of candy, or buy GIANT candybars and have a candy auction!!!

Why not do a coffee cafe theme where you serve coffee, tea or some such and pretend to be waitresses ... it is definitely different

or do a pagan theme... celebrating different pagan cultures and sell some trinkets

A Treasure hunt always gets people excited. You could get a local business to supply the prize in exchange for the advertising. It would obviously have to be well thought out and I'm not sure what time scale you are working with.

If you have a beauty/hairdressing department of your college or school. You could have them doing cheap(ish) manicures/pedicures/haircuts/massages etc...

I think a really good one for the fella's is; speak to your local fancy dress / costume shop and see if they have the giant foam boxing gloves and/or inflatable sumo wrestling suits. Set up a couple of rings and charge people a pound or so for a couple of minutes in the ring. Winner stays in etc...
[I noticed it was a girls school, are parents or b/f not going to be there? It does also work for girls too btw]

I've never had that much responsibilty, but mine is an all girls school cuz I live in an arab country... we usually have hinna tattoes here cuz it's tradition but I'm sure it's something new there so try it. Another nice idea would be a play... but dunno bout that they do that all the time at our school and they don't raise much from it you gotta have an interesting script, great acting and costumes and good advertisement

By the way if you don't know what hinna is its's a herbal mixture so it's not permenant
